Hi Kanga, I don't know if you've been able to locate a Scott catalog yet, but I contacted Sheldon Ruckens, a US stamp dealer, to see if he was still selling portions of Scott catalogs. I've purchased from him in the past on ebay and he is dependable. I invited him to join here and here is his respon...

Ceres, Volume 2 of the Scott Catalogue is the one you need for France. There is a topic similar to yours here: http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=2951 In that topic I listed some ways to find Scott Catalogues on CD on ebay. The shipping will not be so terrifying  if you purchase the C...

The publishers of the Scott CD added some anti-piracy features to the 2008 CD, so that you can not PRINT any of the pages. In doing so, they have angered a lot of honest collectors who just want to print a few pages for their own personal use. There are some work-arounds, like doing a screen capture...

A US ebay seller using the name "asksheldon" was at one time selling Scott Catalogue pages by country. I don't know if he is still doing that but here is how to contact him via ebay: http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ReturnUserEmail&requested=asksheldon&frm=3692&iid=-1&a...

I'm correcting something I said earlier. I said that Parcel Post packages can be sent Registered. They cannot. In order to use Registered mail, the items must be sent First Class or Priority. Sorry if I caused any confusion. See: http://pe.usps.gov/text/dmm300/503.htm#wp1100045 2.2.2 Eligible Matter...

For the umpteenth time, the maximum indemnity on Registered mail is roughly U.S. $43. It is NOT a substitute for insurance . Within the U.S., the best deal is Registration AND insurance, as the insurance is much, much cheaper when the parcel is already Registered. Hi Doug, I didn't know that Regist...

Andrew and Margo , Thanks for the kind welcome. I've been lurking here for a few weeks because I ran into some technical difficulties registering when I first tried to. I tried it again today and found I had to disable some software (dial-up accelerator) in order to register. I've read a few pages ...

More seriously, if you seek a wonderful site for Victorian State stamps, try Les Molnar from Canada at http://www.stampsofvictoria.com/01-12issues.php Regards Geoff. Les' website is one that I found by visiting this forum. I've already printed his pages showing the TPO postmarks. Excellent site wit...

Glen, Try this: http://postcalc.usps.gov You will need the five-digit Zip codes of your starting point and destination. There is a zip code lookup on their site. You may need to measure the dimensions of the boxes you are sending to get the calculator to work. If you want to speak with a live US pos...

I love anything with an interesting postmark, whether it is a CDS or slogan or classic fancy cancel. I'...
