There are 41 combinations for the 3d listed in SG with cat. no's 211d, 226e, 227d 227e, 327c and 328a covering both possible perfs. So, a maximum of 47. your own SG numbers add to 46 alone. Unle...

Often with early (repaired or re-used) perforating machines the guage is not uniform along the whole length of the row and this can cause all sorts of mis-identifications. Hence the 11.5 - 12 gauge being rounded up to 12 in SG. It's been this way since at least 1938. but bear in mind this 3d has HU...

I don't know why someone would do that - but it's the best idea I've got.

Unquestionably a reperf, assuming the gauges have been read correctly.

It's line perfed and NOT a wing margin.

You'll need a 1900 Stanley Gibbons Part 4 or a Brights ABC catalogue that were made annually before World War One. The latter will be much easier to get a hold of than the former.

Cheers,

I couldn't agree more. But let the Americans fleece themselves if they so wish. We'll never have this sort of thing here and I doubt the UK would either.

It's using baseball card gradings on stamps and it just doesn't work.

The general worldwide collector, who is collecting purely for pleasure, will probably happily get by with a years old world catalogue, be it Gibbons, Scott, Michel etc. Let’s face it, there’s not too many stamps issued since 1945 ( especially taken as a percentage of ALL stamps issued since then ) t...
