I prefer the term " KISS PRINT " to describe that type of doubling of the letters.

In my opinion of very little philatelic importance,

Greg,

just checked the album page.

I called it SHORT CE OF PENCE.

I have two of them but not positioned.

Would be grateful if you could position it.

What is the piece that enables you to do that as multiples are scarce of the 8d. on 2d.

Greg, the 6d. Carmine Proof has a shuddering of the left frame caused by movement when printing, it is not a variance in the design. There appears to be slight changes in the background lines. re. the FOURPENCE on 1d., I have the similar broken C, it may have been caused by foreign matter which move...

Ian,

as you know, you only showed it to me, I didn't handle it, look at through a glass, didn't feel the paper and yet I am convinced it is genuine. If it was on thicker paper then I may have wanted to give it the flick (ambiguous comment on purpose),

Greg, usually Die Proofs are taken at different stages of work. However the work that was done may be very minor. There is most probably a variance between the two, don't worry about the colour, that may have been caused by the pressure applied when the Die was struck onto the paper. Looking at the ...

I doubt that would help.

The usage of LHI for Lord Howe Island would have been commonplace for the locals.

I collect Receiving Office markings of Queensland and there are some that used initials for long names.

Your 5s. looks OK and most probably is however without being dated there is always the possibility of it being not being the Blued paper issue.
