I mail an old friend in France periodically, and it's using US postage, but is being handled by two different nation's agency. Do countries have some sort of sharing agreement? That wouldn't seem likely -- can't imagine the US and Iran with a 'postal treaty'. I just curious -- anyone know how a pos...

What are the 'severe penalties' I keep reading about for something like a neutral feedback? Do they charge you more for listing or reduce some sort of discount? Ajax is abrasive bleach, you won't have a back of the stamp left. Might as well use sandpaper.

If the stamps were used in London (sender) then couldn't the CDS cancels just be backstamps (receiver/forwarder)- that's why they've been cut out and put on the front piece?

That would explain why it might be the same paper from the same cover.

Due to atmospheric or storage conditions the stamp has oxidised. The correct colour is the base of the stamp.
There were a few ink pigments early on that reacted this way. The US ones are famous for it.

I've only heard of the term Line Engraved when used in Philately to the early GB stamps. If a plate is prepared and the ink is put into the recessed areas of a plate so that it is 'pulled' out of those recess', then than was Line Engraved/Intaglio/Recessed printing. Printing from below the surface o...
