Those Washingtons are a finely engraved set. I like the way they depicted his life through portraiture, then again they had no choice since photography wasn't invented until the eighteen thirties.  |

They were printed by the Austrian State Printers and the engraver's name is Alfred Nefe.

There are some great scans on here lately, I like the KGV, 5c it's such a rich blue.
uncadonego you say you scan at 2400 dpi, if I try scanning that high it takes forever and lots of times just freezes. That's why I usually scan at 800dpi. |
