Update - TD128 was originally found in sheets of 50 (5 x 10), but in 2012 a smaller size 20-stamp sheet (4 x 5) was discovered. The stamps appear identical (same gauge of serpentine die cuts, etc.), but the widths of the sheet's outside margins was different. I am still looking for an example of TD1...

Does anyone else collect United States test stamps? I'm interested in any and all U.S. test stamps - coils, booklets, convertible booklets, ATM panes, or sheet stamps. Below is a photo of a dummy booklet pane produced by the Bureau of Engraving about 35 years ago (but just listed for the first time ...

Does anyone have any of the early rubber handstamped provisional booklet covers from those Potato Tax Exempt booklets? Each stamp denomination (2, 5, 10, 25, and 50 Pounds) was made into booklets containing two, eight, or sixteen panes of 12 stamps each. The books with two panes had pink covers, the...

I only know of one example of TD129 in collector hands. There should be more since it was produced as a sheet stamp (probably a pane of 40).

The other Parrot test stamp (TD128) is available from at least one dealer (I still have a few copies if you need it). TD128 came in a sheet of 50.

This is a booklet pane of ten stamps that has a tete-beche block at the bottom. This pane was made when the Bureau of Engraving and Printing was evaluating the capabilities of their new Goble booklet forming machines - probably around 1980. http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l492/RayRatt/USATDB46b....

This tÃÂȘte-bÃÂȘche coil (catalog number 131) was created when Sweden first began using a Stickney rotary press - one of the two intaglio plates was mounted upside down!
