Hi, I have some West German stamps for trade. The stamps in this batch all have the gum but are cancelled (I guess that is CTO). http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh571/gnhki/StampBoard%20Samples/WestGermanCTO1.jpg http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh571/gnhki/StampBoard%20Samples/WestGermanCTO2...

Really interesting to see the variety in preference. I lean toward the Austria, Isle of Man, Lithuania style; but the Finland one caught my eye as well.

I think that is cool. I enjoy doing that as well. I end up spending a lot of time on Wikipedia reading up on the items :) Some of the West German pages I've been tinkering with can be found here . I don't have as much text, as the number of pages starts increasing fast. But it is nicer and more inte...

Hi I am interested in trading used West German stamps. My stamps available for trade are concentrated between the 1960s and 1980s (but I have some earlier and later). I am looking to fill holes in the same period. I'm also looking for more recent German stamps (last 20 years), of which I have very f...

I have around 50 FDCs from the late '60s early '70s. I am interested in swapping to fill help fill in my Canadian want list (mostly pre-1950). Some of the 4 blocks shown below I also have as singles. I also have a West German want list which I would be willing to swap for (pre-1980s). I've never bee...

I noticed most of the cancel marks (seems to be all) are rectangular now (I'm in Canada). Is there a different meaning between the rectangular and circular cancels? I guess I'll ask next time I'm in the post office if they can stamp with a circular rather than square stamp and see what they say... A...

Some of my mint stamps come from the edge or corner of a sheet and hence have an extra bit hanging off the edge (don't know what that edge bit is called). I've always just left them alone, but sometimes feel they would look nicer without the attached edge. Are there general guidelines on what makes ...

As a kid, stamps introduced me to other countries. I was fascinated where they came from, trying to figure out the strange names other countries used for themselves, finding countries on a globe, etc. Later collecting became a way of keeping in contact with relatives over-seas. It was an incentive f...
