Greetings! New to the board...I hope I'm getting this right.

I have Ecuador Scott No. 71. It is supposed to have a black surcharge, but mine doesn't. The cat doesn't mention anything about this issue without a surcharge...Do I have a unique rarity worth tens of thousands or at least a couple bucks extra?

Hi Kwesi,

Welcome to the Board. I've edited a bit more information into your title - this may help. We could do with a scan of your stamp - posting pictures is very easy & there's a detailed tutorial here:

http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=284

A more detailed description of which stamp it is would also help "Scott #71" will be meaningless to people who don't use Scott.

Cheers
Chris

Hi again. I'm finding all this photobucket stuff too complicated. I joined this forum hoping to get a simple answer to a simple question. Perhaps I can email my photo to someone who has figured out Pb.

KWESI------to answer your question ,I believe it is a revenue stamp that was overprinted "CORREOS" ,which makes it a postage stamp and would be in catalogs as a postage stamp.Without the overprint its a revenue stamp of Ecuador .

Some of these revenue stamps could be used for postage and are listed in the SG catalogue.
