I am having problem pin point the SG number for this one. My problem is mainly with colour and paper type. Would someone who know a bit about Sydney Views please give their opinion. The colour of the scan is representative of the stamp.

And how's the mouse bites at the bottom right corner going to impact on the price, % wise?

Thanks.

It's on yellow paper, rather than blue, and there are no clouds, so this is one of the range of SG 1 - 4. The colour on my monitor is nearest to crimson rose, SG 3, but to be sure one would have to see it for real.

About the same as a rat feast remnant has on any stamp!

Takes about 75-90% off the value - shame, as otherwise a nice looking copy of a very early printing.

Thanks Phrag99 and the sheriff.

What about this one!? What is the possible SG#?
And the cancel seems to be 53 and if so, indicates Balranald NSW post office.
Would a cancel like this add value to the stamp?

The value of what the first stamp would have been worth as a good 4 margin example and now at best after trimming would be a 2 margin example is where you lost all the value.

You could choose not to trim it and have a corner added to the stamp (noted on the back of course) and it would present quite nicely in an album.

You could trim off the 2 sides to not show the bite and it would then look like 95% of all other Sydney Views, but having a lighter cancel.

If it was mine, I'd repair the corner.

Thanks Allanswood for the suggestions.

I doubt i want to lose another braid of fibre on the first stamp, so trimmings is out. You mentioned repairing the corner (adding fibres :D ), how do you go about it? Would it be possible that you post some examples? Or perhaps outline the general procedure. Thanks
