I have visited frequently as a guest and have now registered and added myself to the roll call. I wonder if someone can help with a query.

I have a Chinese stamp that I cannot seem to find in the Gibbons specialised catalogue or any on-line listings. It is a one cent stamp in green, showing the Temple of Heaven. From the inscription it is clearly the Republic of China and I’d guess it is from the 1920s or 1930s and is recess printed. There are a number of stamps showing the Temple of Heaven, but none the same as this. There also do not seem to be one cent stamps in green: yellow/brown is the typical colour for that value. Have I missed something obvious in identifying this? Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can find it listed?

This is a revenue stamp. The characters indicating 'duty stamp' are

Thanks very much! I wondered if it might be. Can anyone suggest an accurate date? Presumably prior to 1941-2, when inflation meant that there was little need for one cent denominations?

I'm not sure that's the same set. :?

Zenmaster's set have a red overprint, which Jps1949's stamp doesn't appear to have.

FYI the red overprint translate to:Sample

Not sure what that means because I'm a newbie.

Or maybe the seller put it in as a watermarks?

I don't know Chinese, but I'd guess that the overprint translates as 'specimen' - so they are probably official printer's samples.
