I have a French Levant SGT2a
(2piastres2 on 50c peace and commerce)
opt in black.

It has a s.o.n. "La Canee" Crete 1900.

This is 2 years before France had a PO in Crete?

Where would I best album locate this item?
Under Crete?
or under French PO in Turkish Empire?

Thanks for your sage advice.
including any gossip or background info.

Rod .. can you post a scan please so we can see WHAT you are talking about?

And can you go in an edit your current heading please. Right now it would mean absolutely nothing to anyone reading who MAY be able to assist I'd guess.

Cataloguing a strike.

:?: :?: :?:

Perhaps you might mean "Identifying a circa 1900 French area postmark" or something like that?

ACCURATE and detailed and concise headings for new threads are the number one way to ensure members get an answer.

Vague and inprecise thread headings get few if any responses - history shows that. Members do not have time to click on 10 things that seem to be outside their field. :D

Also please note the far better forum for this to have been posted would be "You have Questions - someone will have the answers"

Rod, it is up to you, if you have a separate section for French PO in Crete it would fit in there as a precursor.
