Yeh ok he did pay his money..but did he ever think HOW the post office were going to get their money,,,2 options,,

Option one,,tear the coins off and deliver the letter, perhaps loosing contents on the way,
Option Two,deliver letter then wait till the person who receives it opens it up and then ask for the envelope.

In Australia..he could just have dropped it in the box with NO STAMPS ON, it would still have got delivered, :?

Correct postage?

I think 25c, 10c and 4 x 1c = 39c

Anyone know?

And, doesn't it annoy you when the stamps get through non-cancelled! Boring!

The postage (39c) is correct if the letter was posted between 01/08/06 and 05/13/07

Not to be a smarty but, seal envelope then address and have another person hand deliver the letter, posted without a stamp.

Ah, I think you've used the "Universal Date Format" there...

...which, like the "World Series", is pretty much confined to the USA

This reminds me of a school trip visiting the sorting office in Bournemouth in about 1989. It must have been just after postage had gone up by a penny.

We stood by this big revolving tube and were having explained to us that all these letters will next go through the blah blah blah and the postie put his hand in and grabbed a handful of letters to see which towns they were going to.

The very first one had a postage stamp for the 'old' rate, with a 1p piece sellotaped alongside it!

I've done that, but never just all coins and no stamps.

It's unpostmarked too so you can cut off the corner of the envelope and stick it on another.

Maybe send it to Tonga and someone can use the coin stamps to cover the postage due. Or a real banana?
