Am I the only one who checks in every couple of hours to see what's new?

Have I missed one of Glen's dead possum box specials?

Is there a cure for this?

Does anyone actually see how often I check in?

Do I need to get a life?

No.Yes.No.No.Yes. :D

I'm on morning tea break and had to be quick. I can spend more time once I'm back on the clock!

I'd like to know how to set the system so that when something new comes up in the 'For Sale' forum I get notified....

:)

Shhhh ... I did that a couple of years ago. Don't want everyone to know.

Just hit the "subscribe this forum" button, then every time a lot gets listed you get an email.

Set your iPhone up to play some crazy song when you receive an email, and every time Glen lists a junk box or someone spam emails you, your phone will play a crazy tune.

My computer checks for emails about every ten minutes.

Some lots on here sell in seconds.

So I still get some notifications too late. :(

You need to stay online 24/7 and hit the "View new posts" button every 7 seconds or so. THAT is the only way you'll pick up a junk carton to sort through.

Or you could probably just email Glen and say "Can you make me up a junk carton?" I reckon he'd have enough stamps lying around to do it.

I'm new and am still learning the site. The time difference for us in North America makes it even harder to get the deals, have to figure when our "surfing" hours overlap :)

No matter ... Glen doesn't seem to sleep ... the best lots are often posted about 3am local time.

Big advantage for people with Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome (DSPS), but total pot luck for anyone else.

Other listings include international members ... so can come up at any time.

It sounds like waiting for one of Glen's unique boxes is a cut throat business.

It is a bit like the Boxing Day sales after Christmas, just that we are not physical and it is up to the quickest computer, internet connection (unfortunately I'm on satellite which is a lot slower than ADSL and Cable :( )and the fastest finger.

I am however looking forward to snagging one of them myself and then the fun of sorting through any treasures I may come across.

Good luck to all and may the fastest finger win

Cheers
Helen

Not sure about other members listing things for sale, but for me I just do it when I get time.

That might be midday here, or 6pm, or 2am here. 8)

This huge one sold yesterday to Adelaide at 1.30am so I am not the only night owl around it seems!

http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=38175

There is just so much stuff I am ploughing through here, things get listed up the minute time allows for photos to be done.

I have an entire room here stacked to the ceiling with boxes from the past 20 years there, I am trying (slowly!) to be sold!

Margo said I should offer it per Skip Bin to save time.

When I am home, the computer always has SB in the open tabs, and logged in.( well I dont ever log out )
When the boys are playing games, I interupt, can I just check something for a sec ?

I wonder when LIVE CHAT will be introduced, like every other site seems to have, then we can keep tabs on you.

actually , that might not be so bad on a site like this.

I will open a poll on it ! [ edited here ]

Perfect timing for us folks here in the UK. Sometimes I can view the lots within seconds of them getting listed. Sadly however I still haven't found a reasonable way of justifying sending a 'toxic lot' 10,500 miles :o

Some might say I have an unfair advantage, Perth is 2 hours behind the rest of the country (some would say 20 years but thats a bit unfair) ..... but it makes it a little bit easier to snare a late night bargain!

And put me down for the skip bin.....

I had a cunning solution as all the rooms in the house were getting filled with boxes, so I added a few overflow extra bits and pieces to the garage.

These photos from this week show the fastidious tidiness bug has bitten down there too!

Add $20 to your next order and it and the one under it are yours. :)

Was from Perth IIRC, so high face franking from $10 Waratah down.

Agree with that. I'm tempted to hit the reply button to type 'Sold to me' and the guilt of the postage costs hit and the fingers withdraw

Perhaps on his next US trip Glen can carry some of these over 8)

Cheers
