There are two search options which will help you locate information on Stampboards. You can access them from the Stampboards homepage:

The Google search is penetrating but can yield a large result list.

The advanced search allows you to refine a search by limiting to a particular poster, searching only within titles of threads, date periods, combining terms eg CTOs Australia etc. This gives you a more specific result list.

There is some useful search advice on the Stampboards FAQs >Searching the forums

I usually use Stampboards search for anything that may have been discussed on here but if it's broader or not stamp related per se I like to YAHOO  I'm not a googler at all and it's just what you are used to :?

Yes, whether you choose Yahoo or Google (or others) if you put 'stampboards' in the search terms in addition to whatever you are looking for it should produce results.

Likewise doing the same for wikipedia is, in google, far better than using wikipedia's own search facility which is very term & spellling specific.

How can I find forum members from any specific country?

So far, the only solution I've found is look on each one's loaction, which is almost imposible with so many members...

zakur - sadly there is no way, as we allow members to write their own country data, exactly how they wish, so from the UK alone, members write either -

England,
United Kingdom,
U.K.
UK
Ireland
Britain
Scotland,
British Isles

etc

So there is no common data base.

We are in Buenos Aires in a few days, so must organise that Quilmes evening!

I tried to make a link to a specific message in a thread, but they don't carry (visible) message numbers. Am I missing something? (The URL shown as I type this message is posting.php?mode=reply&f=1&t=14197 but I don't know whether that will have any relevance when it is published.)

Answer: yes, it is the thread number. The URL for the message is viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14197&p=542899#p542899 but again, I don't think that can be found after the message is posted ?
