Chrysanthemums

This chrysanthemum set and the peony set are masterpiece. My pocket isn't deep enough for them (forgeries exist too), so I turn to the alternative .... 1974 North Vietnamese chrysanthemum 8v set:

Iomoon, do you mean the text or the graphic? I can't find it in Scott catalogue but it has some number on it.

Draccae,

IMHO, the perforation seems to be over an area other than the wordings and the face value of the stamp. Could this be an error?

I like the poppy collection very much;
I consider Sunflowers quite tempting for its own collection.

I am so glad that you posted this closeup. I really like this this stamp. It's nice with the background having a similar color (in the general reddish family) that fades lighter at the top. It makes the red of the poppy itself really stand out without having too much of an abrupt contrast as you would see on a different color background. Quite an effective yet elegant contrast. A really pretty stamp.

Yea Nigel, they are certainly pretty and with so many red ones they really pop out on stamps. It's nice too because when you get the lighter blue or pale yellow poppies on stamps they look so soft in comparison to all of the red.

I have a few more sets to post later in the week once I catch up on my scanning.

Two sets of San Marino flowers with poppies and Mt Titano in the background. I really like these, you get both a yellow poppy and a red poppy with the mountain background on both. It's fun too that in a few of the stamps you can see all three peaks of the mountain.

WRT the poppies - In addition to their memorial and drug significance, poppies have an interestingly distinct seed pod, and the seeds have many culinary applications. Have you hit stamps showing either?

WRT the poppies - In addition to their memorial and drug significance, poppies have an interestingly distinct seed pod, and the seeds have many culinary applications. Have you hit stamps showing either?

You know I haven't thought much about the culinary aspects. But I will keep my eyes open there. So far I am arranging them in a life cycle, along the lines of...

Birth/Growth (spring wildflower poppies, arctic poppies, etc.)
Maturity (medical poppy use)
Decay (addiction poppies)
Death/Rebirth (memorial poppies)

Bit of a stretch, I know, but I do love the flower pots:

Not sure what that is growing in them, though :D

Very nice! I am glad that you decided to add it.
