Nice looking bank notes stampway!

I have been wanting to collect China bank notes. Do you managed to get hold of the Bank of China 100 years RMB100 commemorative bank note? How much is that piece going for over there?

Hello orion68,

Thanks for letting me know.

I do not know much about them, I got some information from ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHINA-MACAU-100TH-ANNIVERSARY-OF-BANK-OF-CHINA-COMMEMORATIVE-NOTE-W-PREFIX-BOC-/190714103111?pt=Paper_Money&hash=item2c67724547

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHINA-HONG-KONG-2012-BANK-OF-CHINA-100TH-ANNIVERSARY-COMMEMORATIVE-100-NOTE-UNC-/370634336426?pt=Paper_Money&hash=item564b8728aa

Hope this is useful to you.

Best regards,
ZhangCheng

That's the size. :)

Remember making low rez scans bigger, just makes them blurrier. As in your Blue stamp instances. :)

If you scan on 600 dpi or 1200 dpi you will get crystal clear big images.

THAT's better. :)

Now all you need to do is find the "straighten" slider. :D

"Straighten" is a standard feature on the google Picasa free program that most of us here use, me included for image storage and adjustments, and is highly recommended in post #1 of this thread.

For that, and other reasons.

If you chose not to use it for whatever reason, I can't advise as I have no idea what that program does.

Picasa and I had a "little" disagreement, but I have figured out a simple way to make my stamps straight regardless. Glen, I sure am lucky that you have such a large amount of patience! Thanks a million

Just practicing. I had to download the Snapbucket app to my iPad to upload a photo, but it is much easier to use Photobucket on the PC as options are limited on Snapbucket.

Alan - you are there really - you just added TWICE for some reason as you can readily see ... you must only have it once for each scan.

The PREVIEW button is always your friend. :)

If I don`t do it this way([img][IMG]) I get this message:
"It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.

I noticed in the photobucket img box that it has the capital
img at the start.

Ok, this seems to work in preview. Had a bit of a cold sweat, as I couldn't find the customise upload option on the new photobucket. Managed to revert to the old photobucket and find the option that way.

Edit: just to add that the "new" photobucket does not allow customisable upload size and automatically uploads at their preferred size (ie bigger than 800x600). So best to stick to the "old" photobucket, I guess.

As safe as can be. I guess no-one can give guarantees but I have more then 7,000 stampboard images on Photobucket so it had better be OK.

As far as size is concerned you will find that Glen strongly suggests the maximum 800 x 600 size. That would always be required for a page showing multiple stamps. Even with a good quality scanner you would not want anything less.

As far as individual stamps - use this thread to experiment. Obtain a good size image of something (it does not need to be a stamp) and then save it at the various sizes. Post them here and see what the results are. Large original size, high resolution and you will be amazed at the results.

We look forward to seeing and commenting on what you do.

My recent problem with photobucket is, I'll upload a picture. Rotate it, crop it, etc.. then save it and add to Stampboards.

Looks exactly as it should... Look a day later at my pic on Stampboards and the pic has gone back to being uncropped, un rotated etc.

Still appears as it should in Photobucket, but does not show up right on here ocasionally for some reason.

Tassie_Stamps:

I had this problem as well. In the end I saved each image as a copy after any resizing etc. This kept all changes intact and then I just deleted the ORIGINAL. Photobucket names the copy so its easy to tell which is which.

Hope this helps.

Regards Chris

Rachel ... size is no issue here but the blurry pic are not ideal. 8)

If you have a digital camera with a MACRO setting, (all have it) or better still a scanner, you will get pix of this clarity -

And if using the recommended google free PICASA, cropping images is a cinch.
