Hi, Would anyone know if the signature on this KGV stamp of Gibraltar has any significance to the postal service at the time, or perhaps some event?? Sorry I cant help you with the name, I cant even tell if the fist initial is Pi.H????? but maybe someone out there can identify the name??
Any comments appreciated.

Cheers

Maybe the stamp was just used fiscally and someone signed their name on it to 'cancel' it.

Why do you think this must be someone known? It could be a normal revenue usage with a manuscript cancel.

Does the stamp have full gum on the back. :?:

If Not,,,then the stamp was most likely used fiscally and anyone from my Granny to Fred Blogs could have signed it to cancel it,

But if MINT,it could have been signed for some reason,

Hi aethelwulf, Thanks for your comments, you are probably right, but no harm in asking if anyone recognized it, you never do know.
