I finally figured out I have IE version 6 (that info is hidden in the Help menu "About Internet Explorer" !)
And I think I've solved the problem for now. Regcure has a backup button where you can undo and restore everything it deleted up to a certain date.
Quite a few did sufficient work that you were half way there and then had to pay 'large' money to get the 'large' version to complete the job.
Kevin that's exactly what I did
Downloaded the free version which found over 200 'problems', then I paid to get the so called Fixer.
So bloody stupid of me
The result was it deleted something for the printer - thats why my computer was searching for the Document viewer
It deleted spell check, so I couldn't send an email without the computer asking for the CD to install spell check again
It deleted my favourite grafics program
It deleted Microsoft Works Task launcher, so I can't use publisher, scheduler, spreadsheet and all those other things associated with that.......
Just a few things really... yes the computer was faster because nothing worked ! So I guess their advertising is true
Hopefully they are all back now after restoring the backup.
But I'm too scared to turn the computer off now in case it doesn't come back on
I really hope when I paid for the Regcure upgrade that I'm not on a monthly billing plan or something!
Stupid stupid stupid !
I nominate myself for the dumbest stampboarder of the month (or year !
Do I get a prize Got to be a positive side here somewhere
