:D Thanks for the one hour edit rule reminder. I could have used it a few posts ago. :D

=====================

Hello to all,

One piece of advice as a new user to this board I can offer to other new users is this: If/when you find a thread you would like to join in on, go to it's origin and follow the thread through it's history.

You may possibly find the answer to your question has already been asked, or find a new bit of information you had not thought about, or see some very interesting scans on the subject you are interested in.

A lot of these threads have been going on for several years and are quite long, but if it is a topic you are interested in, it will be worth your time. Also, if you find a thread that you like has gone cold, fire it back up to move it up the history tree, it may have information the next new user is looking for.

And, one suggestion I need to do more often is this: before I automatically ask someone a question, use the search function.

Oh, and one more, use "Preview" before "Submit". Not :D %100 :D foolproof, but it helps.

Best to all,

Pat

Much good advice Pat.

And the BEST advice for all users is to remember that white space is free. :lol:

That "Shift" key on the keyboard is under-used by many.

Every par needs white space between it on Bulletin Boards, so that it is more easily readable. :idea:

Vast gobs of text with no spaces is tough to wade through and follow the points.

And final advice is that all posts can be edited for one hour - so plenty of time to add that free white space. 8)

On the other hand, making every sentence into its own paragraph -- as with the above -- is not a good idea either, bulletin board or not. The constant stop-start makes it less readable than actual paragraphs -- you know, groups of connected sentences, as used everywhere else. :idea: It's "more easily readable" in about the same way that a meal is easier to eat when every potato is a separate course.
