Hello Everyone :)

I am looking for any and all information that can be shared with me regarding this {U.S.?} cinderella. I have tried the standard internet based research with no luck at all, so I would appreciate any tid-bit you'd willing to share regarding this one.

Thanks for your time :D

Have a Good One,
Skilo54

In 1907, Ohio-businessman Edgar Allen lost his son in a streetcar accident. The lack of adequate medical services available to save his son prompted Allen to sell his business and begin a fund-raising campaign to build a hospital in his hometown of Elyria, Ohio.

Through this new hospital, Allen was surprised to learn that children with disabilities were often hidden from public view. Inspired by this discovery, in 1919 Allen founded what became known as the National Society for Crippled Children, the first organization of its kind.

In the spring of 1934, the organization launched its first Easter "seals" campaign to raise money for its services. To show their support, donors placed the seals on envelopes and letters. Cleveland Plain Dealer cartoonist J.H. Donahey designed the first seal. Donahey based the design on a concept of simplicity because those served by the charity asked "simply for the right to live a normal life."

The overwhelming public support for the Easter "seals" campaign triggered a nationwide expansion of the organization and a swell of grassroots efforts on behalf of people with disabilities. By 1967, the Easter "seal" was so well recognized, the organization formally adopted the name "Easter Seals."

Here is one I have:-

Thanks for the reply and link Brummie :D You always seem to be able to drum up an excellent link for these types of questions :) 8) 8) Nice One !

I have several large blocks of these types of cinderellas, along with some US Christmas seals from the same time frame , and would like to know the approximate value of them :?:  I am trying to determine whether or not they warrant being in Vario S1's or not. Would there be an online reference to cross-check for values, or an auction house that has a reputation for selling these?

I appreciate the help, Thank-you :D

I saw quite a lot of them in my search and they were only a few cents per stamp and right now there is a block of 25 buy it now $4, a couple of years after yours but they produced millions of these.

The similarly named Christmas Seals program started in 1908 and is associated with the American Lung Association.
