This is the second example I have come across...from two quite different sources. The first was torn at the corner and given I hadn't seen one before I took it as a hoax and binned it. This is the second example I've come across; so I'm not so sure that my first response to sighting 'this stamp' was appropriate... :?

I am aware that there were some bi-colour cinderellas produced but would like to know if this could be one...

The paper is rather thick and there is no watermark.

Printed in their millions here in Australia and red crayon added later

It looks like the normal stamp that somebody has coloured. All our family photos from the 40s look like that where my dad tried to colour them. They used to soak coloured crepe paper then use the water as dye.

Some people were experts and really added "flavour" to the dull old black and white photos. Unfortunately, Dad wasn't one of them.

Interesting - I'm not convinced it's crayon or any other similar medium. I've attempted to remove or smudge the colour whilst the stamp is wet; and tried it with a little detergent!! :) ...its definitely printed on.

Crayon, felt tip marker, pencil crayon...whatever the medium used, I'd surely say someone is just having some "fun".

This reminds me of the Cape of Good Hope "stamp" shown in, IIRC, the "Online Dreamers" thread that was entirely hand-drawn, and described by the seller as 'apparently a hoax'.
