I was searching on ebay and I came across the following listing (possibly a cindirella)

Image

The seller is i.b.redguy and its current bid is US$23.50. Full listing can be found here

I have a similar one pictured below. Is the current bid realistic, because I thought that this (cindirella?) was worthless.

Thanks for any information.

A couple of months ago, I posted this in another thread:

1948. Malta Memorial District Nursing Association.
Perf 12½. No watermark.
...

They are not worthless, but in the JB Auction they regularly go for £4 or £5 for each stamp. In the last auction I recall a block of 4 of the 5s which had an estimate of £20.

So I think £15 is quite high for a single value without gum.

Thanks HalfpennyYellow for the info. So it's not worth it bidding on it, just to have both values.

Once again thank you.

Both stamps appear to suffer from significant foxing.

Both real, and they the MMDNA appears on a 1995 commemorative too. I am getting around to obtaining a set eventually

Yes, it's me...

These certainly aren't worthless, there are lots of folk who collect Waterlow and lots of folk who collect Malta, so they do sell for a reasonable amount...

My top tip would be don't buy them from JB Auctions in Malta as last time I did that I got something 100% different and had to get my credit card company involved to get a refund from Mr Buttyjig

I think that Belti's comment was based on the fact that until a couple of years ago, cinderellas and revenues were regarded as worthless by most Maltese collectors. In fact many still have those ideas, and the prices of revenues are pushed up by only a few people.

If Maltese revenues were collected some years ago, the 1988 Lm2 Airport Charge stamp below (Malta's last adhesive revenue ever issued) would be common. Personally I have never seen it on sale and I got mine from soaking it from an embarkation card back when it was in use. (although the 1975 £M1 is very common)

PS. His name is Joseph Buttigieg.

I know very well what his name is and I know that he's a crook... and I'm not the only one who has had to put up with his criminal activities... I was going to have a word with Joseph at the last Stampex exhibition in London - only to find that someone else had beaten me to it.

I also know that the UK Malta Study Circle have the same opinion as do the PTS (UK Philatelic Traders Society)

ps - the £1 airport departure revenue is valued by Barefoot at £2 and the LM2 at £5, they're not uncommon at all but obviously would be more likely to be seen outside Malta

No he's not, be careful what you say about him being a crook, thats slandering his name. I have always found Mr Buttigieg to be honest and the material I buy off him is superb, much better than most of the stuff I get off local (Kiwi) and British dealers, occasionally he messes an order up. I am sure he will sort ity out if you ask him nicely.

Oh and please don't make fun of his name, not all of us have cut and dry English names. His name is Maltese and its quite usual in Malta. Its childish and borderlines on racist in my view to humour someones surname.

Fact : I am GBP £300 out of pocket thanks to JB Auctions, so I stand 100% by my previous comments.

If I lived in Malta I would've taken legal action...

Well can you tell us what he did to rip you off, did you bid on and win an expensive stamp, only to receive the wrong lot worth only a few quid.
Because if you have some proof, it may influence my own and other stampboarders dealings with him in the future. :(
You know we are all about naming and shaming here, no one wants to be conned. If its true we are on your side, not the dealers. :D
