Santa sent a second present today from Denmark! A wonderful sheetlet of 4 high value Danish stamps depicting "Winter incarnations" (loved the Viking!) called Vintereventyr II.

Also included each of the stamps seperately, and the entire package was franked with the same samps and 2 more of flowers. As if that was not enough he also included a box of Danish chocolates!!

Thanks Santa, I really like it! Glaedelig jul!

Thank you Dutch Santa - present arrived yesterday.

Image

A magnificent cover - not all of which is illustrated above, but including cinderellas and a complete sheetlet - and a large collection of stamps to sort through during the Christmas holidays.

(and the fact that I could not get the complete cover on my scanner is indicative of the magnitude of the contents)

Gee...there would appear to be a bit of a gap between the last two posts... :o
Dutch Secret Santa - apologies, but I will regift. There is a train cover that might fit Jacob's collection.
Jacob - this probably won't get to you by Christmas. Sorry.

Good idea, I was blessed with a lot of items from two Secret Santas so am also re-gifting a couple of items, one from each but both turn out to be -cat related'

Jacob here.

Please people don't do that.

That is not the Christmas spirit.

When you give something it does not matter how big or small it is.
It is the thought which counts.

Thank you all the same , but no thank you if you break the Christmas spirit.
That would be awfull.

I have a Secret Santa in Finland and today his hard work paid off when this packet arrived in Canberra. I have resisted all tempations and will open the packet next Sunday morning. It doesn't rattle and it feels like there are covers inside he he he.

I have reminded Australia Post that they only have two more deliveries for my second little surprise.

Thanks Margo,

SS from England safely arrived while we were away (some real classy looking Mini Sheets and a Christmas Stamp Booklet as well as some great joint issue franking) and both SS's from here have arrived OK as well it seems.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

Cheers,

Frank (Electric Chook)

Santa obviously comes from many places and Norway is close to the North Pole so he must be spending a bit of time there and so sent me a marvellous package of Norwegian stamps, stamp packs and maxicards along with a block of Norwegian choccy!

Xmas is definitely going to be a good time for me. In addition he actually revealed his true identity with the closing line -" I am Batman"!

And I always thought that Batman was really Bruce Wayne - the truth is finally out. This is great and thanks also to LarsEirik for a marvellous way to bring on the yuletide cheer.

Here's scan that tries to cram in the contents of the package but misses on the great stamps on the envelope that it all came in.

Merry Xmas and happy new year to all - have a great collecting year and may you find that item that you have been hunting for.

Please, everybody, post here something when your presents arrive... at least a quick note, even if you intend to open them later. Some Secret Santas are very worried if their stuff got through the mail / customs all right.

Thanks Nicky- my pleasure (but I'll be even happier when all 104 gifts are accounted for. So far 58 have been acknowledged).

Looking forward to those postings from Antartica. I've always wanted a penguin 8)

Ditto this to me. No complaints, I do that too to save time when busy, buy multiples of something to send to various people here and there. Great job with the franking, the sheetlet was licked to paper and placed in a plastic pocket after cancelling.

Haven't tried the chocolates yet, but pretty sure I've never had Danish chocolate before. Hope I don't get hooked on them, heaven knows where I could find them here.

thank you so much muruk! I got a nice book about British stamps and a christmas-card, all placed in a nicely and franked cover, just as I like it:)
As a rather young stamp collector(21) books and other stuff that can increase my knowledge, is always welcome.

I am also glad the ones who got my gifts enjoyed them, if there is anything, just contact me.

Well try to go on site of recipient country post and look for track & trace, if it arrived you should be able to see it! It worked for me in most instances (Germany, Spain, Australia, France, Italy and few more  )

I am not sure you need to worry yet.

My two presents both came from 'way up north'. One took 9 days and the other was 22 days in transit.

This one is easiest to show from the containers. Secret Santa trawled the world from China and Great Britain, from Germany to Russia and came up with these lovely goodies:

Jacob here.

Please people don't do that. [referring to regifting]

That is not the Christmas spirit.

When you give something it does not matter how big or small it is.
It is the thought which counts.

Thank you all the same , but no thank you if you break the Christmas spirit.
That would be awfull.

Jacob.

I have to disagree Jacob ... but this is just my opinion.

I think it was before you joined, but there was a big discussion on here about regifting.

Regifting is when you receive a present and pass it on instead of keeping it.

MOST of the members on here thought it was OK.

Sometimes you receive something you already have and don't need a backup ... or it might be something that fits really well with another person's collection. No problem, pass it on. I think it is sharing the spirit around more.

If I give something to someone, it becomes theirs to do with what they wish. If they get more pleasure from passing it on than keeping it, that's great by me.

I have my fun by giving it to them in the first place, then they can get their fun from it in the best way that works for them.

I receive a lot of gifts from Stampboard friends ... and I keep most. I had a problem at first, because many were not in my collecting area ... so I started a new collection "Stuff from Stampboard Friends" ... problem solved. :D But some items just have to be passed on because it really is the better thing to do.

I mentioned this on another thread, but my girlfriend is Melpa (that's her tribe). In her culture, people measure their wealth by what they give away, not by what they keep. No-one in the community is ever poor because of other people hoarding things.

From Secret Santa in the USA:

A J Garcia tie. Ties are always problematic ... they are never right ... but this one is. :D

It's a type that will go with about anything and look good, casual or formal. Excellent selection.

Plus a Kangaroo stamp in a keyring, and a mouse imitating a kangaroo on a card. All very nice. Thanks heaps.

I have posted the wrapper on the show your incoming parcels thread.

I received cover last Friday, so all's well that ends well! :D Thanks heaps to my santa - some bookmarks, a lovely bunch of colourful stamps and as for that mini sheet... well, what a beautiful minisheet! Photo to come, but just posting this now so that you know I've received it safe and sound. Thanks again! :P
