Isn't it amazing how the US still enjoys the worlds highest standard of living not because of the lunatics in office, but in spite of them?

I'm not sure about the US having the highest standard of living, but I agree wholeheartedly the sentiment that what we have is not 'because of' but 'despite' the best efforts of our politicians. They have their agenda........then there is reality.
