Webber didn't have a good qualifying run, he is in the 11th spot on the starting grid. He mentioned that he only used one set of tires in the qualifying round which did not give him a good result.

These tyre rules are nuts in recent times. They save them in Q so they get more to use on race day.

Each car costs 100s Millions to start on the grid, and F1 are nickel and diming about how many sets of tyres can be used!

Although Webber should do pretty well if he has fresh tyres in the shed.

I like the rules with the tyres, it seems to level the field a little and allows exciting racing.

It's not designed to save money necessarily.

It's designed to mix things up and make the races more even. 5 races, 5 different winners, and 7 different cars in the top 8 places shows it's working pretty well.

The most open season in years, and the prospect of a great race in Monaco in a fortnight :idea:
