Hi All,

I have started a collection ... which I call "about Egypt"

These are stamps or covers that has something to relate it to egypt .. anything, but is not issued by egypt.

Excluded from this collection is what is called " the flight to egypt" theme .

So if you have something that could fall for this category and and want to sell ... Please, let me know as I 'll be interested

I do prefer postaly used covers with the stamps ... better than loose stamps ... but I will try and buy what I do not currently have.

example, here are some covers of this collection .... just to give an idea of the type of things I am looking for

1- a stamp surcharged by DDR in support of Egypt
Image

2- some stamps of iran that has Egyptian public figures, this cover has the princess fawzia who was married to shah Iran for a While
Image

3- a German stamp with the head of Nefertiti on cover
Image

4- a Japanese FFC cover ... that has "Cairo" printed on the cover
Image

Thanks

Nasr

Fascinating.

I started the same thing a while ago.

I now have New Guinea country collections and also a New Guinea thematic (topical) collection, same as you have done for Egypt.

Maybe the idea will catch on. :D

These stamps were used in Egypt, Palestine and Gaza by Indian forces under United Nations - with UNEF overprint. Do they interest you?

And this has the Sphinx depicted in the cover- that's definitely Egyptian!

Hi Nasr , if you were away for a month you maybe missed my email about these Egypt perfins and Savoyhotel . You were asking about perfins in another thread

What do you think of these Nasr?
The Savoy Hotel PO is of course not a perfin but a Hotel Postmark which is quite nice of its kind!
Image

Postage to Egypt would be about $2 US so I thought $4.00 including postage ?

KRAZZY, I tried to repair your failed link, but I got an error message. I suspect that you used a Photobucket size in excess than the maximum acceptable to Stampboards (yes, there is a history for the reason we do not accept larger scans). You can edit your Photobucket account easily and the following is what you need to do:

The 800 x 600 is the size we want ALL members to set as default: IGNORE their "recommended" size

So all you need to do is reset your account to a maximum 800 x 600 and your images will blossom into full life. And as collectors, we love looking at stuff, even if we don't, or can ever own it.

You have made a good start, and its always nice to see a new active member. So hang around for a lot longer. It's a fun Board when you get the hang of it.

KRAZZY, what I had to do was transfer your link to my Photobucket Account, copy it to my account, and place it into the appropriate portion of the thread (your post). The owner of the Board, and many of us, do not like links, and prefer to see (some would say, when Glen gets angry) insist on seeing scans on the Board itself.

Links can go anywhere - to malware, to other viruses, to porn even (and yes, there is a history on this site about that as well, now hidden from public view, and archived)

If you reset your Photobucket account to the dimensions mentioned above (800 x 600), your scans will be perfect. That's pretty much all we ask.

Norm
