Hi All,

I'm looking for a Australian Postal Stationery Catalogue,my best reference at the moment is a very old Australasian Stamp Catalogue.

What is the latest edition to include Registered Envelopes,Wrappers,Postcards etc.?

Or are their any other sources?

And is the Brusden White stationery catalogue truth or fiction?

Very much in the pipeline. Geoff Kellow has been working on it for months. I have seen a draft of the Victoria postcard part. Will be excellent when issued.

Are you looking for modern (decimal) or pre-decimal stationery?

For what it's worth, Carl Stieg produced an excellent catalogue on Victorian Postal Stationery. It was produced in 2001 and runs to over 200 pages with plenty of illustrations.

YEARS is more like it surely?

Same as the ACSC "Postage Dues" which was finalised years back too, and never printed and ditto "Kangaroos".

Brusden White sadly are a joke in recent years. Not Geoff's doing I stress.

The ASC is not great, but it is current, and it is buyable.

Volume 4 of the Robson Lowe Encyclopedia has postal stationery listings for the states and Australia up to 1952 or so.

A list of KG6 stationery for the British Commonwealth, based on the Higgins & Gage catalogue, is online here:

http://www.kgvistamps.com/kgvistamps/postalstat.aspx

Cheers,

Robert

Hi GJ50,

Yes the link isn't right. The joys of aspx files

Click on the 'H & G KGVI Catalog' link up in the top left corner and the catalogue appears. There is a drop-down menu to the left of this so you can select the type of stationery to be listed.

Hope this helps !!

Cheers,

Robert

Do you gave Higgins and Gage "A" Countries :?: Reasonably thorough, printed in the mid '60's (with an update in the early '80's) so prices are totally out of date, still it's not bad. You can often get copies or originals online and they aren't too expensive.

Lakatoi 4,

I've got both but printing is a bit on the small side.

And the illustrations could be better.

Agreed that printing and the pages themselves are on the small size, that's why I blew up the pages so they fit to A4 (which reminds me, I promised a certain well known Stampboards person a copy of it, didn't I  ).

I was thinking of doing the same, and increasing the size just to make them easier to read.

Yep, at A4 size they are fine and they can be hole punched, or better still put them double sided into plastic sleeves then into a binder.
