Delighted that we got a cool change yesterday that dropped the temp down to 32 Celsius. Previous 4 days had been 40 C plus.

Hovering around freezing point here this morning. Threat of a flurry of snow later, but a few degrees warmer promised for the weekend.

A smattering of snow which was neither use nor ornament and a bitter cold wind but allegedly warming up by the weekend

No new snow here ... but I can identify with the bitter cold.

One can only hope it's warmer here by the weekend. :D

We are still awaiting our first "proper" winter snowfall- snowman building, sledging snow- bally global warming!

I gather you'll have a lot more over the pond Eric

A very light flurry of snow overnight.

Covered the tops of the cars, but none left on the roads or pavements ("sidewalks" if you prefer...) by this morning.

Milder weather 7-8C predicted for the weekend, which will make standing on the terraces watching Fylde play Rugby a little more pleasant tomorrow...

I think we've had more snow in December and the first few days of January, than all of the last two years combined.

Big winter storm rolling through right now...
Hopefully I get this posted before the lights go out :)

Wind 30 to 40 MPH sustained with gusts to 50 or 60MPH.
Add 4 to 6 inches of rain to the wind & today is going to be NASTY.

The only saving grace is that I'm not up in the Sierra's.
They're expecting wind gusts of 125MPH  on the ridgetops...

Eric - happy to organise a trade - Ill let you have some of our degrees for some of that nice cold snow! (if theres room in the package will throw in some stamps too!)

all the best

Certainly in the UK, it is in our genes to complain about the weather- too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry, too muddy, too windy etc etc

But I wouldnt have it any other way

In fact, I've been to the UK several times. I complained about the weather there, myself. I felt right at home.

It is now overcast and gray, with a temperature of about 40 F, and we still have about 1-2 feet of snow on the ground. I'm about to go cross country skiing.

I've finally got power back this morning - unfortunately there are 400,000 homes still without power up here.

It was an incredible storm - not as much rain as I expected but the wind was NASTY!!!

A gust was recorded in the Sierra Nevada at Donner Summit at 163MPH!!!
Here's a link to the news story with that 'factoid':
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/US/weather/01/05/california.storms/

There's another coming in today - they say the wind shouldn't be as bad....

It is now 7.30pm the temp is 36 deg c in Bourke NSW. For our out of town friends Bourke is known as "the outback" of Australia. Closest traffic light or McDonalds is 400km away.

Strange weather. My area look like spring during morning time, summer during noon time, autumn during evening time and winter (quite cold at night and foggy view) at night. Weather has been changed significantly!

Bright, sunny day with temperature of minus 6 Celsuis.

Snow on ground, slowly disappearing.

Slight rain, gets kind of chilly at night
and in the early hours of the morning.
Weather sure is getting wierd
- or perhaps I'm getting older
and feel the chill in the bones much faster.

Cheers
Andrew

Hey, we have had a late summer spell and now (at 0645) it is 4.8%c (about 40%).

B ..... freezing.

But at least we had an inch of rain the last two days (26.5mm) which is the first decent fall for 9 weeks.

This is around 6.00 p.m. in Klang and it is really hot
- looks like the weather is becoming really bonkers.
It was also sunny the whole day.

The last few days were wet, cloudy and rainy.
