I've read members saying how you can put extra or bigger pictures in the description section of an ebay listing using your Photobucket account so I thought I'd try.

All I got was the URL printed as text with the [Img] at each end. Does anyone know how to do this and make it work?

Thanks

You can also use photobucket pictures as your main picture.

On the Selling form when you get to:

Bring your item to life with pictures Add or remove options for pictures | Get help

You may have to click on 'add or remove' - so as to open up the options for self-hosting, otherwise you just load the image into eBay's database.

But after that, as GUTTERS says, toggle between the 'Standard' and 'HTML' tabs under Describe the item you're selling

Standard allows you a kind of rich-text-format with buttons for centering, size, colour and bold. After doing the description, switch to HTML and use

<center><img src=http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff381/civron/hoirz_w1_1st_160103.jpg></center>

pasting in the 'direct link' code from photobucket (not the Stampboards [IMG] coding). Don't use my jpg - that item's not for sale!

Thanks Ian and Gutters. I loaded using turbolister so that was obviously a mistake

John,

In turbolister isn't there a place where you can add URL's to images from an external hosting source? :)

Hi Jim,

You can include links to images within descriptions in turbolister, click on description tab and then select the html tab.

We link to images on our web server within the description using turbolister

Here is an example;

<TD vAlign=top align=center><IMG border=1 src="http://www.philatelics.com.au/media/large/46120.jpg">
<P>&nbsp;</P><IMG border=1 src="http://www.philatelics.com.au/media/large/46120-1.jpg">
<P>&nbsp;</P><IMG border=1 src="http://www.philatelics.com.au/media/large/46120-2.jpg">
<P>&nbsp;</P><IMG border=1 src="http://www.philatelics.com.au/media/large/46120-3.jpg">
<P>&nbsp;</P><IMG border=1 src="http://www.philatelics.com.au/media/large/header-logo.png"> </TD></TR></TABLE></FORM>

Obviously you will be linking to a photobucket web address or whereever else you are hosting your images. Using this method, you can include any number of images in your description.

To see how those images appear, you can search for ebay id 310385432854

Regards

Steve

Thanks again everyone. I just did a trial run adapting Steve's code and it worked perfectly in Turbolister. Now to do some serious downsizing.

Ebay changes all the time. They allow some html content then change it.

This code currently works:

MY E-BAY HTML CODE:
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc431/Barry_E/IMGA0161.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br/><br/>

MY PHOTOBUCKET IMG CODE
[img]http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc431/Barry_E/IMGA0161.jpg[/img]

Get your Photobucket 'img' code and only copy the blue bit , replace my image code with your image code.

This code below is the template to copy and paste into E-BAY's HTML TAB / DESCRIPTION.

<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="PasteYourCodeHere" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br/><br/>

When did eBay NOT allow HTML in descriptions? I've never heard of that before.

In Australia, they changed it, for some reason links to outside image providers stopped working. About 1 year ago.

Looks OK now; I just tried a listing with an image on blogspot and it appeared in the listing preview. That's not to say they won't block it if I tried to actually list the item, but it worked on the selling form.

Still working fine for me ... I use the code straight from photobucket without changing it.
