1. People who use 'y' as a vowel in the place of 'i' or 'o' in order to give the impression that they are some kind of elf or that it's some celtic thing or another...ie. 'myst' or 'wyrd'.

2. White people who are photographed whilst making some kind of half-arsed gangsta sign with their fingers because they lack the intellectual immunity to have resisted that particularly annoying strain of a meme.

3. People who take lots of photographs of themselves with 'friends' at 'parties' and bars and clubs holding drinks and wearing costumes as if to say 'look at me livin' la vida loca'.

4. People who hover around while you are eating and make comments and ask questions about your food.

5. People who stand around outside any commercial establishment waiting for it to open...come back later, wait in your car, have some dignity. The worst of this class are no doubt the xmas shoppers hoping to get their greedy little mitts on whatever piece of cheap, chinese, lead based, plastic junk there happens to be a shortage of that particular year just so they can watch their little brats' eyes light up on xmas morning.

6. Men who simply cannot resist the temptation whatever the risk to check out the guy using the urinal next to them.

7. People who hang ten on waves of public opinion.

8. People who plan, and execute and participate in large and costly weddings.

9. People who openly display an undue and cloyingly saccharin concern for 'The Children'.

10. People who react to a forcasted snowstorm by rushing out and buying all the milk and bread and water off the shelves. The thought process being: "let's get it for ourselves before somebody else gets it".

11. Geek chicks of questionable orientation with thick rimmed glasses, greezy hair and sensible shoes with pretentious and incongruous, hyphenated names like 'Trudie Kadenza-FitzKilljoy' or 'Maizy Nguyen-Monstrousky'.

12. People who give themselves iconic, single word names. The fewer syllables the worse, and expect the rest of us to validate them. Cher, Sting, Bono, Ice T, Madonna, Liberace, ad nauseum. Jesus, plato and Elvis were the only three people to walk the earth who deserved such a distinction...and they are dead.

13. Lady Gaga

Not necessarily. I saw someone with a "Jesus Lives" T-Shirt, who looked a very believable sort of person, and we all know Elvis is still alive in a condo in Chattanooga. And who is plato ... was that Bruce Springsteen's drummer? 8)

And shouldn't plato be the one mostly earning a capital letter to start with?
And what's wrong with checking out other guys in a loo? How else can you go around boasting....

I gave up on sciences in Grade 11, but do remember learning "saccharine". Ah but then I happened to wiki it, and discovered

Quote:
Saccharin is an artificial sweetener. The basic substance, benzoic sulfilimine, has effectively no food energy and is much sweeter than sucrose, but has a bitter or metallic aftertaste.

Saccharin derives its name from the word Saccharine, meaning of, relating to, or resembling that of sugar.

Kids leaving you feeling bitter, that I can understand. :lol:

greezy hair

Next time I'm getting a haircut I'll ask the stylist if they know what that is.

Elvis did have a surname...and Plato made the cut but not Socrates? And since my background is in art history, I'd add Michaelangelo, Raphael, Titian to your list of "deserve". Maybe Nero too, depending on my mood. :mrgreen:

Jesus didn't have a surname because they hadn't been invented at that time. Just as we have William the Conqueror, Richard the Lionhearted, and my favourite, Aethelred the Unready.

As my Father once told me "You have to get there and get your share before the greedy People do"

a.k.a. "the tragedy of the commons". To go off on an economics 101 lesson for a moment: when a resource is commonly shared, ie. a lake bordered by more than one country, if one country starts sucking off the water faster than it replenishes, the other users/owners will think "hey, we have to get in there and get our 'share' before its all gone." Thus, the lake ends up drained, as everyone panickly sucks it dry, afraid they'll 'lose out'.

On another tack, I had an instructor who worked in Mongolia tell me about how an NGO installed a well in a village. They came back a couple years later, and it was sitting there broken, the villagers having resumed the several km trek to a water source. Asking them what happened, they said "it broke, and nobody fixed it." The idea of communal ownership of a resource led everyone to think "its not mine, why should I fix it? Let someone else..."

I stand corrected...now that you mention it, there is a church conspiracy theory that Jesus actually had a brother who was the real messiah...Herb Christ.

The middle east used patronymics, not surnames.

So: Jesus ben Joseph, strictly: Yehoshua ben-Yusuf.

To this day, arab speakers do not have surnames, even in their long formal names.

When forced to fill in surname slots on western documents, most use their place of origin. In arabic, I would be: Yahya al-Germani.

Some days (OK, most days...) it would be easier to make a list of people I DON'T want to punch in the face.

Today is a lucky day for list-makers, stamp-collectors and pedants. :D

And (hopefully...) for people who drive trains and run railways - but ask me later about them :wink:

I always thought the 'al-' prefix meant "family of". The ruling family of Qatar comes to mind as an example, al-Thani.

If it were possible for me to punch stamps in the face :
1. Stamps from opec and republic of banana depicting western art treasures.
2. Stamps of children's finger paintings.
3. Stamps of fruit, mushrooms, insects,rocks, kittens.
4. Stamps commemorating the 6th anniversary of the international brotherhood of plumbers.
5. Stamps depicting textile mills, metal foundrys, factories, etc.

If you want to start punching rubbish stamp issues, your fists will get mighty sore. :mrgreen:

Most people equate OPEC with the Middle East, since the majority of its members are located there. However, Nigeria and Venezuala are also members. And OPEC maintains its office in, IIRC, Vienna.

Beyond that point, the Middle East stamps showing Western Art, or Space achievements, or Expo '70 in Osaka, or anything else to separate the gullible from their money, weren't issued by OPEC member the UAE, but by its forerunner members. And even then, it was largely just in name, they probably knew as much about what was going on with the stamp issues as their ancestors knew there was a king's ransom worth of wealth under their feet. :D

Any image on a stamp is legitimate. I enjoy the fruit, mushroom etc issues; Art stamps do not concern me. They are all legitimate issues-even the 6th anniversary of the International Brotherhood of Plumbers. (Have YOU had to pay for a plumber lately)

Careful Fisherking or I will throw my face at your fist.

There can only be one:

1. People from Call Centres who in their spare time ring me and want me to change Telephone/Internet/Gas/Electicity et all providers, and will not take no for an answer.

I would love the capacity to reach through the phone, and as Aunty Jack used to so eloquently state "rip their bloody arms off"

Hi Norm,

They don't have to take no for an answer. If you press the red button on your phone it's all over. I used to get mad. Now I just hang up.

In one case the guy rang me back and said 'we must have got cut off'. Then I got mad again.

Also, go to www.donotcall.gov.au and list your number. It works and will drop the number of calls you receive.

The guy that redesigned my internet browser and thought it was a good idea to put all the buttons that were on the left now on the right, but mix up the order and make it look "designy".

And finally the new one I just heard: Whoever stuffed up "Minties" by changing the formula and making them soft! "Soft" always meant "off" to me.

The cast of "Jersey shore";

People who just don't give a damn about your opinion;

Holden Caulfield's "phonies";

That guy in the Doritos commercial (with the dog);

People who say "No 'buts'!";

People that don't know a thing about their own country's history;

Modern music artists who put in a few very profane words or phrases in their songs. (Which covers pretty much all artists EXCEPT Lady Gaga. :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: ) :roll:

People who cannot spell.

People who do not know the difference between there, their and they're.

People who do not say thank you.

Although a punch in the face is rather dramatic as well as unnecessarily violent.

Women who get upset when a man holds the door open for them.... (had someone get pissed at me for it Friday... ). I would say "women's lib be damned".. but it's not gonna matter... I'll still hold open the door.

As Allanswood stated earlier:-

1. The French guy who invented the Tie. ( I didn't know it was a French guy!)

2. TV programmers who allow any show to run over timel

Cheers,

Kev.

Definately the person who invented self adhesive stamps.
Feminists (and I'm a woman so I can say that :p).
People who are nice to your face then spread rumours behind your back. (I'm 22 and this STILL happens?? Pathetic).
People who won't tell you why they are angry with you when you ask them. (Just say why!! It's not that hard!).
My Accounting lecturer.
Liars.
People who don't appreciate dinosaurs or stamps.
People who are unneccessarily rude, condescending or bullies. I won't tolerate it in my classroom, nor on forums.
The people who decided to make my uni go to trimesters from semesters, but decided not to change the workload. Evil.

1660 and Louis XIV admired some Croat soldiers who wore bright silk handkerchiefs tied around the necks. Then he started wearing them, made it a military bit of bling and named them "Cravat" shortened form of "a la croate".

Then a booklet was published showing 16 ways to "tie" (first use of this word meaning) a cravat.

So I either need to punch a King or the guy who wrote the booklet or the US guy Jesse Langford, who modernised the way material was cut to make the tie hang nicely in shape in 1926.

Hang it now there's 3 to punch! :D

It's taken me 30 years to work out that ties are cut and shaped to suit the use of a certain knot style only - that's why some just can't be tied propely and look soo bad. Like a knot but have the wrong width or shaped tie and it never works no matter how many hours you spend thinking it's just you.

Personally they are a pompous death trap.

At least the cumberbund didn't stay too long except for weddings.

I have a another one following the last 15 minutes as I faithfully typed out my very first paypal dispute. :|

I like to punch the paypal software engineer in the face for putting a ridiculous time out on the entry page for the resolution centre.

I was entering my details along with the detailed dispute information about a lot I won using up about 800 letters; then when I hit the submit button it calmly told me that my session had timed out and please log in again.

Naturally what I typed in has been lost. Madness.
I'm not that slow a typer! :evil:

I'd like to beat senseless those people that are too LAZY to put a shopping trolley back into the trolley bays when they are finished with them, and instead leave them in the middle of the parking spot you are trying to get into.

:evil:

i must be becoming a pacifist, I didn't feel like punching anyone today. Although I did have some nasty thoughts towards my female house sharer.

Edit: Woody, I think you would have to join a long queue just to get the chance. Ebay covers itself in its privacy policy like the cloak of invisibility in the Hairy Porter movies.

1. Salafis (the bearded, "till the ankle pants" wearing fundamentalist muslims)
2.The Jehovah Witnesses who keep sending Albanian speaking missionaries since they found out that my native is Albanian,
3.Balkan Politicians
4.My neighbor who hits the walls rather than talking to us when he thinks that we are too loud
5.My neighbor back home in Kosovo who breeds and sells dogs in horrible conditions, as a hobby
6. The Imam who keeps waking me up back home in Kosovo while making the first call of prayer
7. Snobs that act rich with the money of their daddy without having earned one cent in their lives.
8. Rich vegans with a "better than thou" attitude.
