France will decide who is going to be their President on Sunday.

Candidates:

Socialist François Hollande.
President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Who will win?

Does it matter who wins?

As this has been discussed at length within another thread, let me say here that I think it is obvious that Hollande will be the victor.

France voted for change by electing Hollande as the new president.

Some of the changes that he has promised for France; create more education posts, the 35 hour work week will not change, pension age will drop back to 60 form 62, and a tax increase for big corporations and people earning 1 million euros per year.

For the EU, Mr. Hollande has promised to refocus EU fiscal efforts from austerity to growth. He has called for the renegotiation of the eurozone pact on budget discipline.

Should we expect to see a different France and a different EU?

Well, at least we won't see Mrs. Sarko pouting about in front of the cameras while he stands on tip-toes trying to look 5'8" (172.72 cm) tall.

As for the Hollande, promises are hot air. He needs the government to pass the laws and they don't always see it his way.

Like the US Democrats and British Labour, they always say they will tax the rich and the companies, but "rich" turns out to be anyone with a job and the profitable companies are all in the Caymen Islands. Rum'n coke Mon?

It dont matter which country they all preach from the same hymn sheet.
The problem is they never learn from the past and we just keep going round and round. The older you are the more rounds you have completed. The answer is power corrupts.

Now Nicolas will be able to spend more time on his Stamp Collection.
