ok, here is my test image (300 dpi).
Coming from my unsorted pile, seems to be a San Morino's newspaper stamp.

Looks good. With single stamps, helps to put something black (or dark) behind for definition. ie to see the perforations, etc.

Belti - you need to make your default setting 800 x 600 on photobucket - you can go to DOUBLE that size here as you can see from the posts above, or this -

Brief test and assist for tonga2... these look surprisingly good Tonga2/Greg.... I had expected a photo-realistic image to suffer greater when made into a GIF

I'll answer any questions about the process on a post over on the animated avatar thread in the tech tips forum.

Here's my test. My one concern is that I never got the option to switch it to 800x600 when I was uploading it.

You can change the settings using Customize your upload options - top right corner of the Upload screen. Don't forget to hit Save (bottom of screen) if you make a change.

I'm not able to use photobucket at present as we moved a few months ago and despite all attempts I cannot get through to process images. I can get to my album and then it greys over - end of section!
They do try to help but still to no avail.
It seems that changing my email address has created the problem.

I've been using computers for 25 years but cannot figure this one out.

Maybe someone out there can help?? Please.

Cheers,

Kev.

Now resolved with the help of the team at Photobucket.

All I needed to do was update my IE and that fixed it.

Cheers,

Kev.

Does Picasa have a way of automating the submission to Photobucket process?

I have other software for rotating and cropping so I don't need Picassa for that.

Kathy, the first rule to remember about posting images on this board is NEVER move or delete them once they're posted. Otherwise you end up with exactly what you have on your post now. :(

It's always a good idea to plan ahead in photobucket, by making a few folders for your images before you upload. For example; if you collect a few different countries, have a folder for each country - with maybe sub-folders for mint, used, covers, mini-sheets, etc.

You can always move your images from folder to folder - before you post them here.

Hope this helps.

edit: I see you realize :D

I tried to upload a jpeg stamp photo to photobucket but it just keeps decreasing the upload speed until it gets to zero about a third of the way during the upload process. It's a small file about 600x600. Anyone else have this happen? Maybe Photobucket doesn't like Apple computers?
Thanks.

Can't get Photobucket to work to save my life. I try to upload an image and it just keeps starting over after about 37% complete. Can't even find anyway to contact anyone. Is there any other service or way besides Photobucket that we can use?

Thanks.

It's not Stampboards, it's the Photobucket site itself. I can't upload my images to Photobucket. It starts to upload and then it just keeps repeating the upload on one image until it gets to 37% and then it tries to upload again it'll keep this up indefinitely . Easier seen than explained I guess.

Well that one worked. Sorry if it's off topic! Photographed the transit of Venus last week at an astronomy club meeting. The one I was trying to upload onto Photobucket must have been corrupted? Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try it again. If at first you don't succeed, etc, etc, etc...

Got it finally! Now can anyone please tell me what this is? It was attached to a hand written parchment document from England from 1835. I know it's not a postage stamp but it sure looks like one! Or maybe it's a rare Russian stamp from the 1700's worth a Million dollars.. LOL!

Thanks.

I've seen this item often. They seemed to be affixed on the reverse of fiscal-stamped items from UK to anchor the stamp (the stamp being affixed on the front, and rivetted through the parchment with some sort of soft metal clip, then the whole thing embossed.)

Jon: The IMG link will be added automatically by Photobucket if you click the IMG dropdown field below your photo.

Which stamp would you prefer?

This set:

or this:

Hi John

Go to albums in photobucket and you will see various codes under each image. You need to choose IMG code- cut and paste it into the SB reply window and submit- it should look like this 8)

Jon, all you have to do now in photobucket is click on 'Customize your upload options' which is directly to the right of 'Upload to Photobucket' heading. Select the size of 800x600 and your image will be bigger and never change it.

Try that and you will have done it :D
