SIERRA LEONE
Sierra Leone issued the first self adhesive stamp in 1964. They were in the shape of a map of the country. Three months later they issued the second set. Another five years passed until another country issued a self adhesive stamp. This was Tonga in 1969 and it was in the shape of a banana.

QUESTION 29

In 1996, NZ Post issued a Health stamp promoting road safety. However a VERY major mistake in the stamp picture led to the cancellation and re-design of the stamp. What was wrong with the original picture?

THE BABY CAPSULE WAS FACING THE WRONG WAY
The Teddy Bear was deleted for the re-issue of the stamp. However, a few hundred copies were sold to the public before the error was discovered.
