Rome and Florence are 2 of my all time favourite cities but I also enjoyed travelling along the Amalfi coast near Naples.

Margoz,

That is an incredible pic. Love the ruins in the backgound - they seem almost clearer and closer than you and Glen!

M; Matamata, NZ - lived here for just over a year, and spent time laying bricks in Tauranga and Hamilton (both about a 45 min drive away). Also, Matamata was where the set of Hobbiton was located for the Lord of the Rings films. We would sit at one of the local bakeries for lunch in the weekend, watching busloads and busloads of predominantly Asian tourists paying up to $100 to look at the holes in the hills from the set. Yes, they did dig into the hills for the houses in Hobbiton, but by the time the tourist operations were up and running, there were only holes left - not even windows or doors.

Hehe,

No, not suggesting that at all, Margo. :) If anything, that pic shows that quality was not just a concern of the past! (not talking about the fella on the left either)

Oman (Sultanate of...) It's a bit south of the UAE and next door to Saudi. Spent a year there- fascinating . The Omani people work there as they are not as oil rich as the rest. Great lands from deserts to monsoons to mountains. Liberal (comparatively, of course). They used to have a huge naval empire- all the way to Zanzibar. Guess what I collect...

nice to see the Eiffel bridge in Oporto, though sadly it is not as famous as his Parisian tower is. Much more useful though!

also Peru Lake Titicaca, Cuzco and Arequipa - wondeful places to see .....

Garuda - Indonesia's airline - the only time I've experienced smoke from cigarettes filled with cloves at close range - not very nice for a non smoking traveller used to being on smoke free airlines!

Used to fly much of rural NSW - no longer operates?

When we have finished airlines why don't we go back to the original proposal by Borneo which was an A to Z of countries, towns & other name of places you HAVE been to or Visited !!!!..

If people only put one item for each letter of the alphabet it can go on for a long time.
