Discovered these six 1858 Buenos Aires stamps searching through an old album. They are mint, no gum, hinged.

Two are missing from the set of eight.

SG values them at over 2000 pounds !!!

Should I auction them or put them on ebay or Bidferret?

There are many, many, many (no, I'm not kidding) different old and worthless reprints of these stamps. I suspect that yours are probably among them. I have quite a few myself.

This thread may help:

I've got a few full sheets of these. In addition to what David said earlier, these forgeries have much larger spaces between the stamps, On genuine you can't get margins as wide as yours, they'd be showing adjacent stamps.

Those are definitely the cheap reprints, as others have said.

would love to compare these to the 2 I have and see the differences... I have the 3P(Green) and the 4P (Red) both of which have been passed down through 3 generations.... I am in Melbourne also...

The reprints were printed many, many, many decades ago. If they come from an otherwise Kids collection, assume that they are not real. Like these:

Thanks Norm, these 2 stamps have come to me from a serious collector, (definitely not a kids collection) so I would really like to have these 2 appraised internationally if possible. I have seen the forgeries of these and I agree there are alot out there, but I don't believe these are...

Provide front and back scans of the stamps here. That will get the real experts pitching in and you will have good advice within 24 hours at the latest.

I know very little about Buenos Aires stamps, but from reading Billsey's post:
Quote:

...I guess that they are reprints as they have quite good margins.

There are other countries (Heligoland, Transvaal, etc.) which had reprints a long time ago so it might be difficult to distinguish between real ones and reprints. For Heligoland and Buenos Aires, ALWAYS assume they are reprints unless you have a certificate.
