May I suggest you consider the phrases "I started collecting stamps" and
"after I grew up". They would help to "standardise" your self-introduction, and
as a Postcrossing enthusiast, you will probably have many future opportunities
to use those phrases

It's great that you are fluent in Italian, and collect stamps that help you use your
linguistic knowledge. It's also a good idea to collect stamps about some particular
topic that interests you: that type of collecting builds your knowledge of the topic
along with giving you enjoyment of the attractive stamps that illustrate the subject.

I joined Stamp Board in 2017 but haven’t posted many since.
Live in Berkshire England and in a previous life in Nova Scotia Canada.
Collect mainly Germany, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

First of all, thank you so much for having me. I wish I would have found you guys sooner, so I would have been able to help my late dad with the true love of his life, stamps. The sad irony is that because of his loss is that I have found you, (this forum), as I find myself surrounded with his 50+ year collection, trying to figure out what to do with it. I don't know where to start and have limited mobility plus with this pandemic among us, I'm at a loss. Hoping this group, that sounds like amazing people, can help shed some light for me. If not, at least it sounds like I'll make a great bunch of friends.

My name is Stuart, I was a member of Stampboards a couple of years ago, due to the death of my life partner I had to take a step back and re evaluate life in general.
I'm doing ok now after a complete change of life.

Losing a life partner is a transition of the highest order. In these pandemic times there must be
even more people than usual facing such a transition, though your own loss evidently happened
before the pandemic.

We can but wish you happy memories, and a gradual positive adjustment to your new circumstances.
Finding some relaxation and pleasure from philately will only be a small part of moving on, but it does
seem like a good idea.

I am writing from Canada, but I started collecting stamps in 1966 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I am from. I concentrate mainly on Germany (all incarnations) and Argentina, but I have stamps from all over the world.

Hi all, apologies for not introducing myself before posting.

I live in the uk but my father was a stamp collector for 40 plus years. He never taught me his trade as we lived in different places.

He has given us a few folders of stamps that we now trying to find out about as don’t have the knowledge we having a hard time trying to identify them hence I found this site, so hopefully you’ll be able to help.

Already posted question about plating but realise should say hello here .
Collected stamps as a schoolboy but lockdown has persuad me to return to this hobby.
Some really useful stuff on here which will come in handy as I try to work out what stamps I actually own.

Hello everyone!

Thank you for having me here. I have just rediscovered my love for my very first hobby - a passion that started when I was in the 4th grade. I'm almost 50 now.

My collection focuses on my beautiful country, the Philippines. I also collect stamps from Japan and do my best to acquire pieces from other countries as well.

Favorite themes include literature, religion, costumes, and chess. I also love TB seals and adore Cinderellas.
