Hi jwk

Ken Nieser in the United States: http://www.kennieser.com/
His prices, I think, are high.

I collect Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela only. I did know a couple of dealers in Quito, Ecuador but one moved to Europe and I believe the other passed away.

You could contact Club Filatélico Guayaquil and ask them: http://www.guayaquilfilatelico.org/

Hello there in the philatelic space,

I am a new member of stampboards.com, but I am not new to collecting stamps and postal history. It has been my hobby for at least 45 years. I am a keen collector of especially Mauritius (stamps, postmarks and Postal Stationery) and generally Postal Stationery from the British commonwealth. I also have an interest in postmarks from the whole Commonwealth and that how I have found this forum.

I am now retired after working too many years and that means that I have a lot of time to work with my collections.

Hello and welcome to owl2 in Solna, Sweden.

Yes, Stampboards is a special space, and it's nice to meet you in that space.

Your collecting interests are well-formed and come with lengthy experience, so you will have lots of information and insights to share with us. When you have practised posting images, it would be a "sharing happy" contribution if you would occasionally show us some item(s) from your collection and tell us about it/them. :D

Hello Gary = garystamps in Nantwich, Cheshire, UK. Welcome to Stampboards.

Here is a thread you will find interesting and helpful in your pursuit of knowledge about stamps of China:
https://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=50521
.
That thread already has 180 posts. It started out a little "shaky", because it was started by a member who was new at the time, and was just learning how to make quality posts. The thread quickly gets up to quality posting...

Hi, folks,

My actual name is Roy. When I was in my teens and 20s I put together a nice collection of art (mostly paintings) MNH, now in Lighthouse stockbooks. Now in my 60s I'm retired and have time to look at my stamps. No money, but plenty of time.

I've been toying around with creating an annotated digital version of my stamp collection, currently a nicely formatted Word document but with only a few stamps in it. I've "added" images of new issues to my digital collection.

If any of you can suggest any art and/or paintings stamps from the last 20 years I can "add" to my collection, please post images of them.

Thanks!

Welcome new Stampboarders:
.
Julie = Bruny 7250 in Armstrong Creek, Victoria, Australia
Roy = arsby in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, USA
.
Julie, "returning to the hobby after a long break" is a very common experience. The pleasure we once had from forming a stamp collection remains as a fond memory, and when opportunity presents itself, we happily take it up again. With more experience and maturity to bring to the hobby, we pleasantly discover that it has even more to offer. Stamps are best enjoyed as a shared pleasure, so when Covid restrictions permit you will find it worthwhile to seek out a local stamp club and participate in its meetings. You'll learn a lot that way too, and the social dimension will enrich your enjoyment of the hobby.

Roy, look at the art subject Irish first day cover shown by Waffle at
https://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=95852&p=7452869#p7452869
.
Waffle has produced a number of threads showing modern stamps of various countries, and art subject stamps appear from time to time in them. They would be a rich and happy hunting ground for you...

Mostly from an earlier time period, Eli has lots of posts specifically showing art on stamps. For example, look at the recent post
https://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=16852&start=4376
.

Michael Organ here from Murrumburrah, Australia. I collect Australia Post souvenir covers. I built a collection up back in the 80s and 90s then put them in storage. During the COVID lockdown period I have returned to the subject and am currently working on identifying relevant official covers issued since January 1996. I am amazed by the variety of new content Australia Post has put on offer since then e.g. prestige covers, postal & numismatic covers, sheetlets, maxicards and personal stationary and stamps. A great many changes! Here is a link to my blog on the newer souvenir covers: https://michaelorganresearch.blogspot.com/2021/10/australia-post-souvenir-covers-1996.html

Hello all!

I am half Greek/ half South African living in Belgium. I have a wide range of interests given the fact that I have only recently re-started my inherited childhood collection. Some of my interests are:
Art & paintings (particularly the impressionists)
Mythology
Great Britain Christmas Stamps
South African stamps
Dead country stamps
Strangely shaped stamps

And everything else under the moon! I keep everything cinderellas, revenue stamps, stationary items... I love getting surprised by a new stamp and spending hours researching it or trying to figure out a cancel or strange postmark.

Hello,
I’m a retired person who has long neglected stamps (and coins.)
I collected both in my youth but have no idea what happened to my youthful stamp collection. The coins were with me until recently when I sold most on eBay.
I stopped collecting in my teens but came back to it in the late 70’s. Then I was buying gutter blocks of 4 of everything Australian, as well as singles for my Seven Seas Album. (I don’t remember the circumstances of acquiring that). As well as the Aussie stamps I bought Pitcairn when AP started selling that, PSE’s, aerogrammes, but fortunately not FDC’s nor the territories.
When AP started with their annual collections in 1981 I bought those, and then it dawned on me that they were duplicating, at some expense, what Seven Seas were doing, so I stopped the latter mid ‘80’s.
A relocation in 2010 indicated to me that the annual collections were far too cumbersome and I stopped those, as I had stopped the blocks of 4, and in fact most purchases by 2000.
Decluttering during the second Melbourne lockdown meant that the vast majority of the annual collections are gone, along with the blocks of 4.
What remains is what I like or can’t readily be sold.
These days my interest is in Tasmanian cancellations but I’m pretty limited in what I buy, as I want less, not more.

Hello TomT in Werribee, Victoria 3030, Australia

Welcome to Australia's National Bird Week! Your Stampboards member-name reminded me of something:
.
Screen Shot 2021-10-17 at 10.04.20 pm.png
.
The tomtit (Petroica macrocephala) is a small passerine bird in the family Petroicidae, the Australasian robins. It is endemic to the islands of New Zealand, ranging across the main islands as well as several of the outlying islands. It has several other Māori and English names. There are several subspecies showing considerable variation in plumage and size...

The term tomtit was originally a shortened form of tom titmouse. Either form has been used to describe a number of small birds, but in England tomtit was most commonly used as an alternate name of the blue tit. The word tit is today used for a number of small birds...

Hi to everyone!
I'm Derek from Melbourne. I'm new to stamp collecting and have found its quite a maze to find out about stamps.
I've decided to narrow my interests to Aussie and Chinese stamps. Hopefully get to know more about them.
Folk here have a lot of knowledge. Maybe I'll be able to learn a lot here.
Thanks for having me on board.
Cheers.

Hello Derek = Aussienewbie in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

I am guessing you have already discovered Stampboard's marvellous thread on Chinese stamps. In any case, I highly recommend visiting that thread, and browsing the many attractive and informative posts. From an artistic viewpoint, an excellent starting point is this post (and its successors) by Stamp_fun:
