Hi there,

My name is Yue Xu, a collector from New York. I started collecting stamps in late 90s. I started with used stamps, then mint stamps, and now traveled covers. I hope to gain knowledge and make friends here.

Best Regards

Hello Yue Xu = xy95242 in New York, USA. Welcome to Stampboards.

Do you live in New York city, or elsewhere in the state of New York?

Do you collect covers with a particular country or theme? So far we know
almost nothing about your collecting interests.

Hi, I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I've been collecting stamps with my son for about 6 months now. His interests are cars on stamps and anything later than his year of birth (2012). While my initial purpose was to support him in his activities, I've grown to start liking the hobby in the past few months. We do this for the endless hours of fun it gives us (except for the time we attempted to clean the new Aussie ones with notches) and aren't really focused on value or rarities at this time.

Our collection was jumpstarted via the purchase of a "kiloware" style packet and we've had a few swaps since then with people worldwide with some of the spare ones. I found this site when trying to identify where a few of our stamps were from and it is amazing to see such an active forum of fellow stamp colletors and philatelists.

Cheers!

Hi Everyone, I am just entering retirement and have re-established my old stamp collection and am wanting to engage with fellow enthusiasts.

I am particularly interested in early Australian stamps.

:D Jasmin167, as you look at various threads on Stampboards, keep an open mind
to the possibility of finding additional possible collecting areas.
It's always more enjoyable to have more than one collecting area, so when one area
is going slowly, you might find something new that fits another of your collecting areas...

Hello fellow philatelists,

I am Deepak from Delhi, India and rekindling my love for stamps again after 10 years. It started originally in 1988 in junior school and has been on and off. But this time it is here to stay and I been trying to organize my collection with a purpose and completion.

Looking to enhance and share knowledge.

My primary area of interest are Indian stamps post Independence of India along with covers and sheetlets. Also stamps about India and Indians issued by other countries.

Hello, world!

Post by BDK01-07_015 »

This is David, from Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China.

I focus mainly on postmarks (both hand and machine cancels are acceptable … and meter cancels too! :D ) from mainland China and all over the world. I do also watch on ATM and meter labels worldwide.

Favorite stamp? My answer would be the R16, the 4th edition of the “Sacred Revolutionary Places” definitive series from 1974, of the P.R. of China. Not because of the theme, just because of that it is simply beautiful for definitives!

Best Regards,
David “BDK01-07_015”

Hi – having been directed to this forum (with thanks to Glen) I am seeking advice from collectors of Australian stamps in particular.

Background: My late grandfather Walter Jardine designed the Australian Navigator Series of stamps first issued pre-decimal currency in 1963.

I recently launched a website of his works, & included on the site is preliminary artwork for Matthew Flinders from his original drawings. Several minor changes were made after this prior to the final proof and printing of the stamp.

Q. Would art prints be of interest to stamp collectors? Appreciate comments/feedback from a collector’s point of view. (To see image: www.australianheritageprints.com and click on ‘images’ tab).

Thanks in advance, Diana

I'm using windows and when I follow your link a home page with an image flashes up and then disappears leaving an empty white screen.
You might like to check it out

Thanks for your reply!
That's weird...one other person in the past few months said the same thing, also using windows...
I have checked it out from my desktop (windows 10) and no problem, but will get an IT guy to have a look for me.
Thanks! (Maybe refresh if you try again)? Would be interested to know if that fixes it. Diana

Hello all,

Dave from Cheshire, UK here

I inherited several thousand Stamps a few years ago in varying states of wear; loose, albums, fixed etc and lockdown has given me the time to get started on sorting them. It's a crazy long process but an enjoyable one.

Personally, I'm very interested in USA stamps of which I have quite a few (again in process of being sorted...!)

I'm sure I'll be on here quite a bit for advice and I've already started adding to my sprawling and currently disorganised collection :D

Dave.

Aaahh, Dave = Fuzzwithtone in Northwich, Cheshire, England, welcome to the company of many others who can identify with your description:
I'm sure I'll be on here quite a bit for advice and I've already started adding to my sprawling and currently disorganised collection :D
A respected senior collector once told me that to have a collection, you first need an accumulation.
It was good advice, but it also turns out to be unintentionally foresighted...

/RogerE :D

P.S. Northwich, Cheshire vs Norwich, Norfolk. How often does mail intended for one arrive indirectly, via the other?

Greetings.

Kevin from Bristol UK here.

I have been collecting on and off for about a year or so, but have recently got back into it with gusto.

I am a wannabe Worldwide collector, mainly focusing on Europe and in particular Great Britain at the moment, and I make my own album pages using MS Publisher as I enjoy doing this.

I am under no illusions of making money from the hobby, I am purely doing it for the enjoyment. As an aside, I also collect WW2 British army cap badges.

Welcome Mark from Kilmarnock and all other new Members. It is good to have another Germany collector on board.

Have a look at this thread which lists most of the threads relating to this collecting area:
"Index of threads on German stamps in Stampboards."
https://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=91671

All the best with your treatment- know it can be a worrying time- had myself treatment (hopefully successful!) for prostate cancer a few years ago.

Hello, I live far east side of the New York City. A few more blocks it will be Nassau County on the long island. So it does not really feel like living in the Big Apple, although it is technically in the city.

I collect first day mailed covers, especially on art and painting. My favorite country, in terms of stamps, is Japan. I swap covers with other collectors (glad to see several friends here :D ) and hopefully i can reach 60/60 to start making new friends here.

Where in Buckinghamshire, may we ask?

Your Federated Malay States focus is a nice field, with much interest in postal history,
as well as some attractive stamps.
