For July I would like to nominate UpperCanadian's 'Landscapes Of Canada' Thread:

https://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=95680
.
Beautiful stamps - it has inspired me to look at my very modest Canada collection with renewed interest.

I am delighted to see RevRed got there last month. For July, I would like to nominate Eli. His thread on French Indochina especially Laos is simply fascinating and hugely educational. Most of us have little knowledge of South East Asia which is surprising given the temporal proximity of the Vietnam War.

I can thoroughly recommend every stampboarder to peruse this thread. You will, like myself, become wiser and richer in your soul.

I was going to nominate UpperCanadian but I was beaten to the punch. I have a great liking for Canada, it's people and stamps. Eli is not ,by any means a second best choice, but an equally good one.
I prefer to collect UK, British Commonwealth esp Pacific area ( not excluding West Indies/Canada ) and Western Europe. At the bottom of my zone of interest is Eastern Europe and communist countries.

AMark, my post said I would have nominated UpperCanadian but was beaten to the punch. Instead I nominated Eli and his Laos educational thread. If you can nominate more than one, I am happy to let both names go forward.

On trawling through Eli's threads, I note he was awarded poster of the month 5 months ago for the Laos thread I was referring to (without a link) I will nominate another of Eli's threads re Laos and Puffin will supply the link. The thread is called Laos- The People and The Land.

I will happily second that nomination for Roger E's thread although my collection of Maldive philately only begins in 2008. The much earlier issues are very interesting and the history of the islands is fascinating.

Folks can I remind all of the VERY simple rules re nominations we have had for over 10 years in post #1.

Some of the vague, lazy ill-defined thought bubbles above, clearly do not comply, and no idea how Mark makes sense of them.

You MUST add a specific link to the post or the thread concerned, with a reason why you think it deserves to win. Don't say: "Jim's post in mid month on the 1d black was pretty good."

So - what we need is, in all cases is:

A thread link url, (and that to be coded "URL" in reply box so it can be cut and pasted by Mods) and exact title of that thread, (singular) and the member (singular) nominated within that thread, if not the thread starter.

So your nomination needs to look in THIS exact format below. Not dreamy vague "That interesting thread by Bob on Germany" etc.

Greaden
Ghost Countries Identifiable through Postmarks
http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=71175

All to be posted in THAT format, on THIS thread. You can nominate more than 1 thread each month, and nominate more than 1 member if you so choose. If you can't be bothered to use this simple format, we can't be bothered to accept your nomination. :!: :!:

Re: Stamp News, $120 prize for the Month's most helpful tip/post

This may be a little off topic but the Stamp News heading makes it suitable in my mind at least.

It is very sad to see that Glen no longer provides the "Market Matters" column in this great magazine (Stamp News). It was the most read portion on my part and has given me some great heads ups in the past such as the Australia Post 2020 Annual Collection with the huge error of one stamp missing the word Australia. I have four of these stashed away at the moment.

Thanks for all that wonderful work you put in Glen, it has been greatly appreciated and I must say you probably need a rest.

Cheers,
Frank (Electric Chook)

First week of August has gone by and the Tokyo Olympics are now over, which means that SB members will have more time to submit their August nominations!

Thank you Brad for your August nomination of ebay! :)

I'd like to again nominate RogerE for his "Sharing my early Maldive Islands philately (pre-1970)" Thread

https://stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=95451

The thread continues to illuminate Maldivian matters and broadens our knowledge.

I will more than happily second that nomination. The thread has certainly given me lots of pleasure going through the early examples.
I prefer to collect UK, British Commonwealth esp Pacific area ( not excluding West Indies/Canada ) and Western Europe. At the bottom of my zone of interest is Eastern Europe and communist countries.
