I received my second SS from Australia today! That makes 2 of 3 (the first from Germany). Just one more! I’ve noticed one SB member has received mine, hoping the other two will get to their respective recipients soon!
Be good to one another & collect on!

Three Secret Santa packages arrived while I was having a week in Barbados.

Sadly, my mother has passed, so the photos will be delayed.

Looking forward to brighter days.

Thank you,
Margaret

I can only reiterate that which Margo has already said Margaret but will add that the loss of one's Mother is such a deep and painful thing and that I would like you to know that within this community (Stampboards) there are so many people who feel for you right now.

Love and best wishes.

Our Postal Workers have decided not to be grinches, and all of our Christmas mail seems to be arriving in a time fashion.

My 2nd Secret Santa has arrived from South Korea.

Image

It's under the tree with only 4 more days of waiting. :)

Sadly some of our mail may still be sitting in transport trailers outside the depot. Both of my Secret Santa shipments seemed to have made their way to their overseas destinations and I have received one Secret Santa gift from Germany but one of my gifts has not yet arrived. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a Christmas eve delivery which would be perfect because it would minimize the amount of willpower required to keep me from peeking. My first Secret Santa gift has tested my self-control but so far I have been able to resist out of fear that opening the envelope would put me on Santa's naughty list and jeopardize the second shipment--not that I am superstitious.

Perfectly timed for Christmas my third Secret Santa gift has arrived. In an amazing cover too! Unfortunately someone had opened it along the way, but the contents seem taped up and should be safe inside.

Thanks a lot, Secret Santa from Dubai!

my second package from Santa ( not so secret as he has given a number of clues ) arrived yesterday .

For one thing it has identical franking from S Korea as the one delivered to Jim Fegy! and has a definite Occidental connection coming from "Abroad" ie the Orient.

Thank you Santa "D***** "

Margo and my recipients

I have a confession to make I was looking to see why my gifts had not been received and realised I have posted the three gifts out to last years recipients (2017) not this years (2018). Some how when I did a search for the addresses from Margo I didn't check the date of the email

Sincere apologies I will make up 3 new secret santas which will wing their way across to my recipients, but clearly now not arrive in time for Christmas.

I hope the unwitting recipients like their surprise gifts though

Sorry once again for being brainless, I put it down to too much work.

regards
Mick

A surprise Secret Santa delivery by Canada Post on a Sunday:

I would like to thank both my Secret Santas. A nice big batch of used South America which filled quite a few gaps, some Victorian modern CDS which have found an appropriate home, some Chad Miniature Sheets which are now gracing my Independent Africa Stockbooks, and Modern Mint USA and Canada self adhesives which are now all where they belong in my collection. (One of the joys of being an A - Z world collector. Everything counts)

Thank you all for participating and showing that we are a caring and sharing community, a specific thanks to my two Secret Santas, and again, thanks to Margo for your tireless work in running this load-a-fun, your Monthly Stamps in the News articles, and all the other front and backroom duties you do to help Stampboards remain the leading stamps BB this side of Sirius.

Maybe you could get Glen to take you on an overseas holiday sometime in the future as a reward.

Oh, and to everybody- have a great holiday season, and may your stamps be with you.

Slowly recovering from "Food coma day" (also known here in Sweden as Christmas Eve...), and what better way to do that than to open the Secret Santa packages?

First one came from Dubai, in a fantastic looking cover!

Image

The cover had been opened on the way here, so was a bit worried things inside would have disappeared. But it was so nicely packed, so nothing could fall out. And the contents... Amazing! Fantastic minisheets with mostly sport stamp, but also from my other collecting areas like Italy and Singapore! I'm so happy! Thank you so much, Secret Santa!

Image
Gigantic (almost covering the whole scanning screen!) souvenir sheet from Salamanca, Spain. And one of my favorite stamps, the super long Singapore joint issue with Egypt. Love it!

Image

Image

Two souvenir packs, with stamps, from the tennis tournaments Dubai Tennis Tournaments (for both men and women) back in 2007. Photos of the biggest stars included!

Image

Image

Image

Stamps and minisheets from all over the world with sport contents, and a few minisheets from my other colleting areas like Italy and Singapore.

Thank you so much, Secret Santa!

My second Secret Santa from Germany knew my stamp collecting tastes from when we swapped stamps by mail over twenty years ago so he put a smile on my face with this eclectic lot including a nice souvenir sheet that was missing from my Local Issue for the CLN Administration of Aosta set (https://www.groseducationalmedia.ca/vsc/italy3.html), German and Russian postal stationary, German booklets, a Liberian Princess Di sheet, Herm Island Europa's, a Norwegian local post and a Spanish Civil war issue:
Image
Thanks Secret Santa. I recognized your name on the return address on another Secret Santa gift and was already planning to write. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Santa mentioned a New Zealand private post stamp in his card but I couldn't see it in the lot so I took another look in the envelope and all of this fell out:
Image
Merry Christmas indeed! Thank you very, very much.

Inside were some fantastic content from Canada, the souvenir sheet of "In Flanders Fields":

Three FDC covers, including the "In Flanders Fields" and the "Canada Memorial Cup".

And then some more great looking minisheets!

Third Secret Santa came from Australia, again in a very nice cover!

Image

Inside were the full set (18!) of Gold Medallist FDC from the Olympics 2004. Amazing!

Image

Image

Just showing a few of them here. Going straight into my sport collection!

And then there was a cover full of very modern Australia (all $1 stamps, plus a few 50c sport stamps!) stamps! If they will do miracles with the last few years of my Australia collection...? Oh, yes!

Image

(Just showing some of them here)

Thank you so much!

Three fantastic Secret Santa gifts from UAE, Canada and Australia, I'm so thankful and happy!

Merry Christmas to all of you on Stampboards! And thanks a lot to Margo for doing all this for us Secret Santas! :)

I'm not in Ann Arbor right now, but Eugene, Oregon USA and do not have access to a scanner but my Secret Santa sent me a fun assortment of early German stamps. Thank you Santa!

Also, I have not heard about my Secret Santa packet arriving - I sure hope that it did get there in time.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all who participated in this wonderful event - and remember it's the thought that counts and the effort of sending off a 'present' to a fellow stamp collector. Sometimes, people forget about the spirit of the season.

Thanks Margo for organizing another great Secret Santa event.

Thank you so much to my Philippines-based Secret Santa! I wonder who you could be

I am really enjoying new Australian issues lately and these stunning beetles are no exception. Beautiful.

And it appears one sheet was issued on each day of a major Asian stamp festival. Very cool!

Plus, it came in a lovely cover of Philippines lakes.

All will go straight into my WW stamp collection tonight.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Was delighted to open my Dutch Secret Santa present on Christmas Day.

First up was the following letter
Image
From the Santa Postal Service . I've searched through the standard catalogues and could not find mention of this Service. I think it must be un-catalogued and is possibly unique! Am thinking of sending the letter off for expertising.

First time I've ever been called a fly speck, but it's rather nice to be famous enough to have my own nickname.

Then came a number of covers and stamps, all of which will go into my ever expanding collection of modern-day Dutch stamps and covers. Actually, these are the first items of the collection, but they may not be the last - I feel a gold medal waiting me some day!
Image
Image
Again, many thanks Dutch Santa, and many thanks to Margo for organising the whole thing.

Re: Stampboards "Secret Santa" 2018

Not only do I have a Dutch Secret Santa, I have a British one as well.

This parcel must have arrived 1 or 2 days before Christmas, but I've only just picked it up.

To begin with, there is a SG topical catalogue on birds. For many years I was interested in collecting stamps depicting birds. That desire has waned a little in recent years, as I have concentrated on other areas. This, however, has gotten me enthusiastic again. Many thanks.

In addition, there are several stamps and covers, some of which depict birds in the UK.

"Hope you enjoy". I did very much.

Thank you again, Philip.

Hoping everybody enjoyed a wonderful Christmas I would like to share my happiness after opening the package received from my Indian Secret Santa.

The content is amazing!

Plus special covers from India, Personalized Greeting Stamps from Taiwan with Butterfly labels, souvenir sheets from Bhutan (World Stamp Expo 2000) and the superb souvenir sheet from the United Nations Postal Administration at New York showing the stained-glass window from Marc Chagall.

Many thanks to Secret Santa for the great addition to my collections and to Margo for organizing the exchange.

Cheers,
Marco

I can't help you with a SG number but my Catalogo Enciclopedico Italiano 1997/98 contains the following note following the listing for regular 1944 stamps of this design for C.L.N. Local issues for Aosta:

"Esistono due foglietti non dentellati con i N.14 e 15. (L.100.000 cadauno). Esistono fogletti falsi."

With help from Google I am guessing this means:

"There are two imperforate sheets with Nos. 14 and 15. (L.100.000 each). Counterfeits exist."

Your sheet is N.15. The prices are too old to have much relevance but the souvenir sheet is priced at 20x the regular stamp.

The two sheets can be seen on Daniel F. Kelleher Auctions https://stampauctionnetwork.com/v/v65274.cfm.

Hope this helps.

That's right. The other companies are PIN (Berlin), Regiopost Pfalz (Ludwigshafen) and Turbo-Post (Neuruppin)
