Joey please post a photo of it here.

That is how we all post queries here as I think you know.

A crude forgery - holes far too small. IMHO.

Reverse perfs. like this are not uncommon. Although I can't speak for OS/NSW. I know the VG ones from the same period can be found with reversals. It came about by the way the Perf (VG/OSNSW) was done. Sheets were often folded to fit through the machine. Sometimes it was only 1 row along the margin at other times the sheet was folded into quarters, in which case there are normal, reversed, inverted and inverted reversed.

Yes there is probably a small premium attached for reverse, as there were probably less done, Yes...OS/NSW stamps tend to sell a bit above a normal stamp but how much I don't know (and I given up guessing in the last few days.)

I'd just watch it for 7 days and look at it again about 5 minutes before the auction ends. Then decide.

I just re-looked at the stamp ( after reading Glen's comment) and I'm not sure if the perfs may have been done after the postmark. Some of them seem to show white edges where there should be black, but even this can be touched up.

Please explain Kevin. "Inverted" to me means upside down, which this is not.

.
Hi!

Agree, the 1/2d seems to be inverted OS NSW. They are surely uncommon, but from time to time you see examples.

I only have this attached 1st wmk 3d kangaroo with inverted OS NSW.

As the OS NSW perfins are not catalogued I have no idea about exact rarity and I also have no clue about a possible value, but it is nevertheless interesting and I always saw it as a curiosity.

We shall see, since the ½d Orange will be coming up at Leski Auctions in December, with a modest estimate.
