I'll superimpose one image on another to check the positioning.

Give me about 15 minutes.

Your high res images made this an easy assessment. There is a slight upward shift of the image on the back of the stamp so it's not an ink bleed through the paper. Note the Roo's tail and the NSW coastline.

Rod I appreciate your work and time for this confirmation.

The bright light is a good tester. My eyes did spot that NSW coastline!
I coudn't match it as well as you on my scans.

But your testing proves it beyond doubt!! :D :D cheers

Here are two that I would love for someone to have a copy off!! Both 1st watermark.

Check out the break in the coast!!
It is similar to 13(2)ha which is in 3rd watermark!

This is a 1st watermark and the break in coast far extends south!

Sorry David,

The break below P is very close to being correct, but not quite.

Plus the N of ONE has the characteristics of later stage (after Plate D) clichés, that is breaks in the first shading lines above and below the N.

David,

Very nice and certainly an early state Die II. Those large breaks are unmistakable.

This is DL31 - ACSC 3(D)e.

Pop a few arrows or circles on the big picture and I'll send it over to the WIKI.

Thanks,
Philip

Speaking of shades have had this one for a while and as far as I know it hasn’t been in the sunlight. Not a hint of green/emerald but looks to be grey. 1st watermark. Regards, Summo.

Have had this inverted watermark for a little while as well. Jury is out as to whether this is a first or third watermark. Any assistance would be appreciated. Is it my imagination or is there a $ sign on the hip of the kangaroo? Regards, Summo.

Thanks Pampstamp. Watermark was a bit indistinct. Would like to know how you get it to show up like that though. CV is always a little rubbery around these things though. Thought that the 1 shilling Roo might have been a poor ink print run, but alas appears not. Interested to hear if there are any others out there. Regards, Summo.

So this stamps lies perfectly flat? Strange. Should slightly curl either side to side or top to bottom. Then you'll know. I can see the mesh which is a clue!

I would encourage everyone with relevant material to contribute to the two existing WIKIs that I post regularly too – the ½d Green and the 1d Red. If you have a stamp of better quality than mine, or a stamp for which I do not have an example, then please post clear images to this forum and I will insert them into the WIKI with due acknowledgement.

Thanks,

Philip,

Here are 2 copies of BR60 which I regard a different states even though ABP only gives an example of the first one.

State 1
BR60S1.jpg
BR60S1a.jpg
BR60S1b.jpg
BR60S1c.jpg

(a) Right frame: thin break 11.25mm down from top frame.
(b) Shading by Tasmania: line 4 up on left side does not touch coastline.
(c) Bottom right corner: slightly blunted and notched.

State2
BR60S2.jpg
BR60S2a.jpg
BR60S2b.jpg
BR60S2c.jpg

(a) Right frame: the thin break has opened up more and the opposite inner frame line is dented inwards.
(b) and (c) unchanged.

Great observation Ross,

I will insert into the WIKI.

But hold on - I've left out the right pane Plate B stamps altogether!

AHH!!

I think what I'll do is complete the Plate E stamps, then I'll do the BR stamps.

Sadly the WIKI will be out of order, but I can't do much about that. When doing the BR stamps I'll include your second state BR60.
