Is this Bahamas 1884-90 2½d 'Sloping 2'?

Post by dj_claz »

I'm going through a new pair of Imperial albums with a lovely mint collection and am picking out various oddities so have a few things to post for some help and advice.

With this one, could someone confirm whether it is the sloping 2 variety please. Not sure it looks exactly like the example in SG but it seems different to the regular '2' as seen in the other stamp in the original image that I cropped down.

Thanks

Hi there,

I don't think so, I do not have an example in my collection to show but this look normal albeit a little off shape!

Sorry

Difficult to compare when you don't include a scan of the variety as it appears in SG. Or was that an intentional slip?
Looking for NSW cut-down relief date stamps, as seen in my avatar, to add to my collection.

Wouldn't 1884-90 be a Queen Victoria stamp?

Here is an eBay listing - it looks like the bottom of the 2 is not parallel with the frame line.
