1937 Paris stamp exposition internationale... fake or real?

Post by kelliegirl33 »

.
Can someone tell me if this is fake or not.

I have no idea what the overprint says ... I can make out some letters, but not all.

Any help is appreciated.

Reason: "AddSpace" button used before images, as all members should click for every image. And added image correctly

It is clearly a postal cancel, not an 'overprint' of any kind.

The top two lines of the postmark read:

Chalcographie
Musée du Louvre

Which is basically the Louvres shop for selling high end prints ....

If I were buying THE WHOLE SET OF SIX, used , today, as a rush job, this is what I'd expect to pay.

Current eBay listing of Paris Expo Stamps, used

If I could wait a week, I'd halve that (but on items under US $5 I usually dive straight in "on first acceptable price").

... so for an individual stamp, "post and packing" are going to be the largest part of any transaction.
