in each case without giving an illustration of the stamp you are referring to, or a
description of that stamp (date of issue, subject of the stamp).

I don't have access to a relevant Michel catalogue [Mi Europa doesn't cut it!], so I can't give
you a "ruling" on any of those guesses without an illustration or explicit self-contained
description of the stamps you are referring to...

Background information:

Please realise that the stamp catalogues most frequently used by collectors and dealers
in Australia, in increasing order of sophistication, are more or less as follows:
• Stanley Gibbons [SG] Stamps of the World
• Australasian Stamp Catalogue [ASC],
• Stanley Gibbons [SG] Commonwealth & Empire 1840-1970,
• Stanley Gibbons [SG] Australia
• Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue [ACSC] This is the "authoritative" source.

Rarely used, by comparison, are Renniks, Scott [Sc], Michel [Mi], Yvert & Tellier [Yv].
Australian coverage by those catalogues is generally rather basic, and typically Australian
collectors are not comfortable with catalogue information in German [Mi] or French [Yv].

A parallel: a collector of USA stamps, resident in USA, would naturally use a Scott
catalogue for reference, especially the Sc Specialized, and would almost certainly
not use SG or Mi catalogues, or even have access to them... Quoting a reference number
from either of those catalogues to a USA collector would be unlikely to be meaningful.

I was referring to the 90c 1986 Native Orchids issue (SG AU1034?).

cover many collectors' favourite general reference work.

Its feature in common with the previous mystery stamp was the year of issue: 1988.
(No-one seemed to focus on identifying what feature they shared.)
