John- Thanks for allowing me to change my guess, but I'll stick with my original number. I guess that when the going gets tough, call on the women to get it done.

-Marty

Thanks Marty.

Notice "Womens" Rugby Union is not called "Ladies" Rugby Union.

Have a look at the forthcoming Women's World Cup ( Sept/Oct 2021) to understand why. :D

Miss Maggie Mailbox is very pleased that you are doing the Ladies Rugby.
Her prediction of 251 remains unchanged.

Not according to the all knowing omnipotent and infallible Elkra. It does not matter as I have gone below 249 &250 anyway.

Thanks for the email advice about the changes John. I had gone low this week anyway so I might just stick with my original pick and hope for a couple of high scoring games as I have no idea anyway!

You are doing a great job trying to keep the competition running in these extraordinary times!

Thank you very much John for the message that I received

But I think I'll keep my original hypothetical result of 256

I'm afraid David you are confusing that "omnipotent and infallible" creature with the mighty Arkle; certainly not Elkra.

Marty changed to 249 so 250 is available.

Your original prediction was 246 T but as 251 is now available I will put you down for that.

225 already taken Pratyush.

I can put you down for it but you'll not win the Round. :!:

That means that Rule 1 comes into play.

CP0706 Cancelled Rules (600 x 215).jpg

So everyone who entered this Round receives 10 points in the Current Standings and is qualified (assuming they enter) to compete for the carried forward prize which will be decided on Round 7.

However,
Round 7 Postponed until week-ending 30/01/2021.

The Ladies have sadly fallen prey to the dreaded Covid-19 and their fixtures have been put on hold for 2 weeks.

That leaves just 2 possible games next weekend in the Pro-14 (one of them - Munster v Leinster :) ) and with the possibility of one or both of these not taking place it doesn't justify holding the Round.

There are rumours of possible games in the French Pro-14 but I could not find any confirmation and I'm not going through another week like this.

Stay Safe all and check for the rescheduled Round 7 next Friday (22/001/20021).

I am just surprised that it has taken so long for it to reach this impasse. After all, rugby union is a notoriously NO contact sport and social distancing is impossible. With all the spitting, nose wiping and no hand washing, what do you expect. Sad but predictable.

It will not surprise me at all, with the current state of infection in Europe, if rugby has played its last game for 2021. I am truely surprised that they have played any games at all.

Predictable alright David but there are far more important things atm than Rugby Union (or any other sport).

I had a look at my Ante-Post Portfolio for the Cheltenham Festival in March. If the meet were abandoned the stakes returned from void bets for the 4 days would be a lot more than your average punter wagers in a year. I'd rather have the bets and some superb early prices I managed to procure including mouth-watering wagers on locally trained A Plus Tard (40/1, now 8/1)) for the Gold Cup and Aspire Towers (50/1, now 10/1) for the Champion Hurdle.

We were doing pretty ok here in Waterford up to the end of December but cases have more than doubled since. :o
A friend of mine aged 51 sadly succumbed only a few days ago.

A publican in a sea-side town just 7 miles from the City held a totally illegal New Years party involving 80/100 people including a number on vacation from UK. :o The town's Covid count has rocketed.

Thinking aloud I ventured that the person responsible should be charged with manslaughter; my nephew agreed but though that any self respecting barrister would make a murder charge stick!

Stay Safe
John
