Those collecting UK Postal History may be interested in https://sites.google.com/site/ukpostofficesbycounty/ which contains lists by County for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales of all the post offices and their known dates and status.

I don't think there has been a link here yet to the postmarks of Tasmania. Here is some great information (including rarity ratings) from the Tasmanian Philatelic Society's (TPS) website:

"Circular Date Stamps on Tasmanian Pictorial Stamps 1899 - 1912 Rarity Ratings"

http://www.tps.org.au/PDFs/Pictorial%20cds%20R%20ratings%20Lancaster%202-Nov-09.pdf

"Tasmanian Hand Cancels 1913 - 88:An up-date in 2001 Courier #31, May 2001"

http://www.tps.org.au/PDFs/Tas_handcancells_1913_1988.pdf

There was also a link on the home page of the TPS website to the early Tasmanian numeral cancels:

"Barred Numerals 1861 to 1899 checklist"

It isn't working now so presumably it's being updated. Worthwhile checking back every so often though

The TPS website is: http://www.tps.org.au/index.html

In my thread http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=60638 there are some resources on cancels/postmarks. Feel free to copy any resource there that I have posted to this thread and feel free to add any resource in this thread to my threads if it meets the criteria in my first posts (likely all material here meets the criteria of one of my threads).

For Lithuania you can use
prahanoaki.blogspot.co.uk

this includes towns which have at different times have been in Imperial Russia,Lithuania,Soviet Russia,Germany,Poland and Memel.

It is not a postmark site as such, more an illustration of specialised personal collection of stamps, postmarks and postal history and depending on how you want to use it can be a bit complex. However it includes some cyrillic examples

A valuable resource, many thanks.

Germany stamps of recent years have Briefcentrum postmarks with each having a number.
I have traced from 1 up to 100, but can find no link or list that tells me how many Briefcentrum there are and the location of each number.

Can any one assist please?

Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi
(in English and French)

http://congo.cancelstudies.perso.sfr.fr/

Extremely valuable site, the only one of its kind I am aware of, but quite cryptic and cumbersome.
Lots of interesting and detailed information about each postmark, although unfortunately no rarity rating is given.

Happens SOOOOO often.

The data IS always there via the webarchive wayback machine, if anyone cares to rescue it -

https://web.archive.org/web/20140226203245/http://congo.cancelstudies.perso.sfr.fr:80/

Someone refuses to pay the $20 hosting fee renewal and KAPUT etc. Years of work often - all gone.

Which is WHY I always urge folks to copy material off such sites and post it HERE as well.

stampboards is going nowhere. :)

Collectors of Tasmanian postmarks might be interested in a list of up-dates and new discoveries which we recently put together for owners of John Hardinge's book "Tasmanian Postal History: the Post Offices and Their Datestamps".
The list includes new early/late dates, a couple of new discoveries for Tarleton and Impression bay plus a listing of all currently recorded examples of new types - the "Football" First Day of Issue type and the Timeclock type.

While this has been published for owners of the book, its available to anyone interested - 7 pages plus a couple of pages of Type illustrations with the new types and a couple of errors we wanted to correct. See https://tasstampbooks.com/up-dates/.

We also have a new publication which is a concise version of the original plus up-dates. Details here https://tasstampbooks.com/

For a whole host of various cancel types used in Canada (squared circles, precancels, duplex, flag, fancy cancels, etc), the British North America Philatelic Society (BNAPS) study group newsletters are online in pdf format.

And I would suggest if members have a real interest in stamps like these, with websites like these, to actually copy/paste the pages into a personal word document, so that if and when they disappear, you have a record.

I stumbled on this today. A website with Maine USA postal history, nicely organized, sorted by county, then town. Lots of examples of the postmarks, with the periods of usage.

Good evening, I am an Italian collector of Australian stamps and I wanted to ask you for help. Unfortunately here in Italy most Australian stamps arrive with advertising cancellations, hence my idea of a collection by inserting the stamp in the advertising writing, but unfortunately I do not have a text with the advertising labels with precise measurements, hence my request for help: does anyone have any pdf or other format files of australian advertising labels to give to me? Thanks for the help
