Variety: S- flaw. The "S" of "POSTAGE" shows a flaw which almost links the upper serif to the letter "T".

This little gem I just listed at - https://www.glenstephens.com/rarity.html

Victoria 1864 1d Laureate, Wmk '1' - P13, variety 'PRINTED DOUBLE': SG #108ca, on De La rue paper, with clear 2006 RPSV certificate stating: 'That it is genuine' and noting no faults or defects.

Without doubt the very finest looking of the 3 known copies. Kellow's photo page 147 of Handbook, of one with a corner missing, shows the same long green vertical line in front of the Queens face - not a green crayon line, as it first appears, but a strange "proof" of the double print occurring.

Kellow states on page 148 this appears to be a case of a sheet actually passing twice though the press, (i.e. a true "Double Print") rather than the far more common "Kiss Prints". Current SG Cat £1,500, and even so, with only now 3 copies recorded in 150 years - is one of the vastly under-rated Victoria major printing rarities.

Answer from Brian Kearsley (author of the book: Discovering Seahorses):
This illustrated printing flaw on a Bradbury stamp is better known on De La Due. I am not entirely sure how these came about, but strongly suspect they had a lot to do with plate wear and the over-aggressive removal of excess ink from the plate prior to printing. This combination produced the blank arears found in the denomination ,and occasionally in the descriptive lettering below. These flaws are not constant, but yield some interesting varieties.

Hi!

Now that Asmodeus shows so many nice varieties, I had a look over the late victoria and the edward issues. Here is what I found. Is there anything known constant within and a value for it?
I`ve marked the error on the scan with a circle.

Here on the first one the inner head printing seems to be shifted to the right and downwards, it`s the only one I saw with this. For comparison one with typical printing:
