I'll just like to add that this set is quite sought after by most Indian collectors as this is one of the very few stamp sets to be withdrawn after issuing by India Post as it was said to be printed with water soluble ink.

Sálim Ali was an Indian ornithologist and naturalist. Sometimes referred to as the "Birdman of India", Salim Ali was the first Indian to conduct systematic bird surveys across India and wrote several bird books that popularized ornithology in India.

Better keep it separate from other stamps and in a high quality plastic bag/mount/pouch if you have not done already. :D

Agree with that. Here in Goa, we have a bird sanctuary named after Dr. Salim Ali. Even a species of Himalayan Forest Thrush is named after him.(scientific name Zoothera salimalii)

Don't know if this was covered before but here we go

CMS COP 13

India hosted the 13th Conference of Parties (COP) of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) from 17th to 22nd February, 2020 at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

The theme of CMS COP-13 was ‘Migratory species connect the planet and we welcome them home’.
The mascot for CMS COP-13 was ‘Gibi – The Great Indian Bustard’. It is a critically endangered species and has been accorded the highest protection status (listed in Schedule I) under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

India Post commemorated this event with a 'My Stamp' (Kind of personalized stamps unlike normal commemorative ones)

Laughing Kookaburra Dacelo novaeguineae

Aboriginal name for Kookaburra is CARCOAR. Laughing Jackass was the vernacular name given to it by early settlers due to the loud noise sounding like human laughter, particularly in the mornings!

Black Swan

A maximum card with a difference.

The 50c kangaroo stamp has a PERFIN of a swan imprinted into it. This stamp was only available to attendees at the Swan River 2004 Stampshow. There is also a tab on the stamp for the black swan.

This postcard, received with thanks from Philexx, has me intrigued and perhaps others might like to comment.

Image

The stamp was issued by the United Nations Vienna office in 2003 and features a Toco Toucan (Ramphastos toco).

The card was issued by Deutsche Post and on the reverse bears the words 'Write again - We get better every day'. It has been posted in Vienna although I am not sure about the date.

The cachet is in the form of a heart and includes the name Verona.

Interesting. :?
