Some nice blks of 4 that have been bought in the last 8 months,I agree with Glen as to how hard they are to find, look on ebay and for every 100 blks of MUH there is one postally used with the proper postmark.

Block after block of the Stockman stamps - just wish they'd been on cover

Jon
That's some hoard for 10p!!!!!

briggia
Not quite, but close. They wanted 10p a stamp but as it was for the group that promote philately in schools I just gave them £5 and they were delighted. It also included a bundle of 100 Germany SG1541 the 50pf stamp which I picked up for my daughter's art project as well as the Roo's and a handful of other stamps which were all gaps in the collection.

Even so, with 46 Stockman stamps each with a minimum cat of £3 each I still think it was a bargain :D

A block of 12 x £5 from the Irish Heritage definitive with nice parcel post cancels and an emphatic crayon mark, (sigh). It must have been quite a heavy parcel!

There are three plates with Die II clichés - D, E and F. Plate E was only used as an Upper plate, while plates D and F were used as lower plates.

Only the lower plates (D and F) have the CA and JBC monograms. Stamps from Plate D are rare, so my guess is that your block comes from a printing of plate F.

Something a little different below, I listed up here today for $A40.
Image

Australia 1932 Postage Due stamps in cds *USED Blocks 4*.
This trio will not win any beauty contests, but are nicer 'in the flesh' than they look in photo.

Clean and sound. Perfs that look short are not, as just postmark ink in those places. Torn off corner on one, but 2 blocks are marginal, even more unusual on USED blocks - shame they did not have imprints!

A BLOCK of a 1d is really weird and scarce used, as there of course was a 4d printed for just this use, and being for double deficiency on a 2d letter, even a pair of 2d made more sense to use.

All with different date Rockhampton Qld cds. SG D106 £42 as singles, and blocks many times that, as near none are known.

Most readers know my view on postal used blocks of 4, and how they will all likely greatly increase in value in quite short order - https://www.tinyurl.com/Glen4-16 - most especially the high values.

Most are scarce, and many are truly RARE. You could spend all day and phone EVERY dealer in the book and ask if they have a 1923 6d Roo postally used block in stock at ANY price, and the answer will be “NO”. Ask them if they have a used 5/- Harbour Bridge, and they ALL have one of those! Join up the dots. One is TRULY scarce, and the other is not!

When the ACSC prices them in used BLOCKS, as they are in Europe catalogues, the prices will go insane, as few exist of these.

Back on more familiar turf this time;
Image
Barbados SG1279, the $5 'Pride of India' from the Flowering Trees definitive series in a block of 10 used to make up a $50 post charge.

Nabbed for £1.70, these stamps catalogue £8 each and I'm guessing in years to come there might be a premium on a block this size.

Definitely a 'nice block' :D

Jamaica SG18 1883 1d deep rose

Jamaican blocks from this period aren't that easy to come by, and often come at a hefty premium. This one didn't. It's not perfect, but it's a good looker.

Yes, just a complete fabrication. You can see the joins.
